It was reported on ESPN Radio, that Larry Brown may not start the NBA season as the Pistons Head Coach. Due to a long grueling trip to the NBA Finals, and a US Team that?s filling him up with frustrations he may want to take a temporary break. However, this is not 100% confirmed but it?s a high possibility that he just may do so.

There is no link yet, but I'm still searching.

All It is at this stage is speculation, that article is just Sam Smith's opinion. I for one don't expect Larry to miss any time. There's been no quotes from Larry that could make one think he will take a few months off.

He will not take time off I dont think its just not his style. These rumors are just popping up because of the fact he has not had a break since his final season with the sixers and just turned 64. It is like all the retirement rumors that surrounded Larry his final years in philly.

It was always rumored he was gona retire never happened though. There is also a article on this at hoopshype.com . I honestly dont see it happening though Larry Brown has the never stop working personality to me he new he would be coaching team USA this off season for about a year now he never mentioned that he would take a break or anything next season.

I guess it is also popping up because no one expected the pistons to make it as far as they did in the playoffs and this years playoffs were possibly the longest in recent memory. Larry Brown probably wants to get off to a good start next season though I dont think he will in trust his team to anyone.

I think LB will definitely take a break into the early 05 season. After just winning the NBA championship and then shooting right to the preparation for the Olympics he must be so tired it's ridiculous. Plus, Larry is a family man and proably needs to spend some quality time at home with them. If he does this I can't seeing it be longer than a month or two.

He's not gonna miss any time IMO. He will be able to handle it.

I hope he doesn't plan on leaving anytime soon. His track record of hopping around from team to team kind of worries me. How long is the contract he signed with us....5 years? Anyone know how many years he had left on his contract when he left Philly?

Didn't ESPN radio report Peja Stojakovic-Ron Artest trade last week? The deal hasn't gone down.I don't see Larry Brown taking a break as he has the whole month to rest after he comes back from the Athens and needs to go to the training camp with the Pistons.

heh, i bet LB will be happy to come back to the Piston's team-oriented play, after this Olympic team's inability to play team ball.
