<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Seattle Times - Word is that Larry Brown is calling many of his former charges around the league to see whether they'd like to do deals before the Feb. 23 trade deadline. And he isn't wedded to keeping anyone on his roster. Coaches calling around is not unusual, but it doesn't sound as if Brown is clearing things with team president Isiah Thomas before picking up the phone. Which might explain why the Knicks seem to be in every trade scenario there is, including possible deals for Orlando's Steve Francis and Denver's Kenyon Martin. The Nuggets want to do something before the deadline, but the bigger question is how much owner Stan Kroenke will take on to make a move. He vetoed a three-way deal with Orlando and New York last week because he was reluctant to take on the remaining $49 million of Francis' contract. It sounds as though Kroenke can live with two big-ticket contracts, but not three, especially since he's going to have to pay Carmelo Anthony a max deal in two years. Kroenke already is paying guard Andre Miller $55 million, and has sunk $93 million into Martin.</div> http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives...rks_the_phones/
When LB worked the Phones in Philly, he practically destroyed the future of the franchise. I don't know much about NYK, but him on the Phones is a bad move IMO.
The salary situation can't get much worse than it already is... and I don't think Larry will get his "type" of players.
