Late Game Threads: Golden State v. L.A. Clippers, 11/26 & 11/28 Sorry that I missed the last two game threads, but my computer caught a virus or something. I hope I fixed it. Anyway, discuss any thoughts you have about the games here? The Warriors seem to be unable to beat the Clippers, who are probably their closest rivals in the Western conference, which is not a good sign.
At least you do them, I've been trying to work up the courage. Dunleavy did a little better, but he was really passive on some plays and made some ridiculously stupid turnovers. Jrich was mediocre. Pietrus hardly got playing time again. And we still have no inside presence.... sigh.
I didn't see the game but from what I heard it wasn't pretty. What is the problem with this team? At the start of the year i thought that the Warriors would be a lock for the playoffs. Resigning J-Rich and Murphy took away any potential distractions and besides last year, I thought that this was the deepest team that they've had in a while in my opinion. What's going on??
Lack of defense, not enough high percentage points. A coach that has a system that will do well if we have the right players like all around players who can shoot and a big man that can draw double teams. We don't right now.
I saw the game today. We come all the way back and than just start playing crappy defense. We have no flow offensively. It looked pretty bad.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Rudeezy:</div><div class="quote_post">I saw the game today. We come all the way back and than just start playing crappy defense. We have no flow offensively. Those kind of players I can forgive for not being the best defenders, because at least those guys can take the other team's best players out of the game. We can't get calls if they're settling for far too many jumpers. Defensively I think the management already knew where they were at with Jrich, Dunleavy, Murphy. You just can't play good team defense in the NBA when 3 of the 5 guys out on the court absolutely cannot play with their feet. Even worse is when both your wing guys can't even guard their man straight up. How do they help each other out? They just can't.
you know, I like Murph fine, he's coming back from a injury season,. just give him time. But JR, after 3 seasons of starting should be able to have a 20 point season.
Well I had a close up look of the game and it look worst live than it did on tv. Me and my friend got there about 11:00am and were sitting under the basket next to the warriors bench I got a chance to talk to foyle and najera coach montgomery, but only for a few moments because the security guard told me to go back to my seat. I guess the fact that I was wearing my J-Rich jersey turn her off. Anyway when the warriors were warming up they look pretty loose and I actually felt optimistic that they would win. Richardson, Cheany and any Warrior that was covering Simmons weren't even raising their hands to contest shots. There was no team play but a lot of one on one and too much dribbling. Foyle, Davis, Robinson, Murphy and specially Dunleavy could not box out or rebound if their life depended on it. The few times that they rebounded the ball they would lose the ball to a clipper player. No rebound = no running game = lost game. Oh and the turn overs, there was a sequence when J-rich rebounded the ball and try a behind the pass while he had his back to the intended warrior team mate, but because he wanted to get fancy he pass the ball straight to the hands of a clipper. Needless to say there were to many hurried up shots miss layups and the coach would not call a time out to stop the clipper momentum. I actually counted 3 clipper time outs before Montgomry call his first. Honestly the Warriors look unsure of what they wanted to do. They look like they quit midway through the third quarter and by the time the game was mercifully over the Warriors ran out the court like they couln't wait to get out of Dodge. Lack of fundumentals is what is killing the warriors and J-rich and Murphy need to become more of a leaders by being vocal and not just trying to take over a game but making the Warriors their team. The time for being a wallflower is long gone. You wanted the big contract guys then you also need to step up and lead on the court.
I'm sorry to see the Warriors just keep on being so close to winning games, and yet blowing the lead.it's a shame you guys have been dealing with this for over a decade now. This team has a lot of heart, but are we seeing a pattern of playing games and losing them and losing their heart??
