<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">That starts with guard Brent Barry, one of two unrestricted free agents on the team. Sund said yesterday the hope is to re-sign Barry, though he wouldn't discuss contract negotiations. Multiple sources within the league have said Seattle's most recent offer was three years at about $18 million. Sources also said Barry will likely leave the team. Should Barry choose to play elsewhere, it would be as an unrestricted free agent or in possibly a sign-and-trade agreement, which would be sticky if he wants to play for a team that offered less money than Seattle. The Sonics are over the salary cap and unable to offer another team's free agent more than about $5 million, the salary-cap exception available to all teams.</div> <font size="1">Full Story urtesy of Danny O'Neil and the Seattle PI.</font> Well we won't use the entire exception on Brent I'm sure, and it's looking more and more likely that he's not going to be a Sonic next season. I wish him luck wherever he goes because I absolutely adore the guy, but if he leaves we better make sure nothing happens to AD. In fact I would make him a co-captain.
