Gunners target Laurent Koscielny seems to be on his way to the Emirates following a drawn out negotiation process with his club team, FC Lorient. (Fun fact--Lorient's manager is Christian Gourcuff, father of French national Yoann.) Koscielny is a 6'1" centre back from Tulle. He's 24-years old. He hasn't been called up by France but is eligible to play for Poland as well. Signing Koscielny to replace William Gallas sounds remarkably like the deal we had to bring in Thomas Vermaelen to replace Kolo Toure. Hopefully it works out as well. Some were hoping for a more experienced player to be signed but I presume that will still happen as we're set to lose at least three defenders this summer in Silvestre, Gallas, and Campbell. Not to mention Senderos. Johan Djourou, Arsenal's oft-injured 23-year old centre back, may factor into the starting eleven as well this upcoming season.
I've heard that the deal could of been completed by now but Wenger 'forgot his Blackberry in England'. Hilarious if true. Hilarious if false.
