After suffering another concussion Monday night, Arizona Cardinals linebacker John Abraham has left the team, possibly for good, according to sources.

Abraham is suffering from severe memory loss and has been for well over a year, sources said. Abraham believes he needs to take time to get well.

Arizona placed him on leave, freeing up a temporary roster exemption that the team used to re-sign linebacker Marcus Benard.

Abraham, 36, has 133.5 sacks, the most among active players and ninth on the all-time list, in 192 career games with the New York Jets, Atlanta Falcons and Cardinals.
