"In having signed a Swedish goaltender famous for his rapping, the Maple Leafs — if nothing else — can argue they have the best nicknames among netminders in all of hockey.

Add Mark In Da Park to a list that includes Optimus Reim, The Monster and Jiggy.

On the ice, he's Mark Owuya, a 21-year-old, 6-foot-2, silver medal winner from Sweden's 2009 world junior team.

On stage, he's Mark In Da Park, a rapper who appeared on Swedish Idol. He's also got his own website, where you can download his songs, www.markindapark.com

The European hockey prospects site, eliteprospects.com, doesn't sound convinced about Owuya's goaltending ability.

"A butterfly goalie with a technique that is not very developed nor pretty, but he has good attitude, self confidence and stops the pucks, which it all is about in the end," says the website. "He has a lot of advantage being of large size (6'2) and is pretty good at moving side-to-side. Has problems with high shots. Agility could still be better.""
