Talking to a buddy in Phoenix this morning and he's claiming that Blazer games on LeaguePass (he has via DishNetwork) will be blacked out across the nation for many or all of the Blazer games.

That simply cannot be correct, can it?? I told him that I highly doubted that. I could see it happening from the Portland area perspective, but surely not in Phoenix...or anywhere outside of Portland/Oregon for that matter.

I highly doubt that's going to happen. At least, if they want my money they won't.

I think it is only blacked out in the Portland stations - Blazers DMA (Designated Market Area) which was before the Sonice left all of Oregon and SW washington. I'm not sure if they changed it to more of Washington and part of Idaho now but I doubt it.

Regional games are blacked out if they are on local TV. If you live outside the Portland market, you have no worries.

Not going to happen! Take Monday for example. In Portland you will be able to see it on League Pass. Now if the Blazers were broadcasting the game also, the league pass signal would be blacked out.

It does make sense but that's not the way Directv did league pass last year or with the first Sac game this year. Take the last game against Sac this pre-season. Nobody was broadcasting the game in the Portland area but it was still blacked out on Directv league pass and on the regional sports network from Sac. I think it was channel 686 or something like that. It was blacked out on all Directv channels even though there was nobody broadcasting in Portland or anywhere in Oregon. I'm hoping you are right about the Monday game with Sac on Directv but I'm guessing it will be blacked out again. It was also like that last year.:sigh:

    Great responses everyone. :)

Now to decide if I'm getting Dish or DirecTV to buy League Pass through...
