(i'm just putting this out there. i understand that i'm not a 'reliable source' but i have no reason to lie, believe what i say or not... so here it is...) my good friend works for the warriors...they had an employee meeting yesterday, where the "president" (dunno his name) said: "When KG announces that he no longer wishes to play in minnesota, we will be the first to approach him, and we will have the most to offer. HE WILL BE OURS." My friend said that they also expressed interest in JO, but sounded like KG was the definite first priority... he said this was "classefied information", but fawkit...i figured you guys would appreciate some gossip in the offseason hahaha.
Well the key to it all is "WHEN" Does it happen this season, or next summer? Seems like the TWolves and KG want to make one more run at it, but if KG sees his team likely out of the post season for the 3rd straight year, then I expect him to breakdown and ask for a trade.
I think it's crazy that players are the ones dictating trades now days. If a player doesn't like his playing time, doesn't like his teammates, doesn't like the stadium hot dogs -- he can just whine like a poopy pants and demand a trade. Not that KG is doing this, but the thought that a guy can "demand" a trade and get his wish is lame. Look at Artest. He demanded a trade and didn't get it. So what did he do? He bad mouthed the team. Then management said "well, Artest has become a cancer here, he is no longer welcome back. We're going to pay him to stay at home until we can punish him by trading him." They really showed him -- yeah, traded him afterall, to a playoff team -- Merry Christmas!

They front office thought a playoff run was possible with Fish and Foyle and company in '04 and then again with Baron in '05. So kudos to them if they think they can land a franchise guy and make contracts work and everything.
haha, @custodian...that definately wasn't me who leaked the baron trade...i haven't even been around these boards for that long. i do agree with you guys, it's rediculous that players dictate the trades these days. i guess they ARE the ones bringing in the money, but still...they aren't the ones who write the paychecks. either way, JO or KG would help this team out TONS. by the way, forgot to add, apparently they are claiming that they're gonna land one of these guys WITHOUT DISMANTLING THE TEAM'S NUCLEUS. i don't see how that can be, but that's what i heard. apparently that would include baron, j-rich, and last year's rookies.
maybe they are gonna offer all our draft picks to Minny for the next ten years for KG.... oh along with Foyle, Murphy and Fisher.... to make the money work... keeps that core intact.....

Just to make the salaries match, it would have to be Murph and Baron plus one of the young guys and/or future picks for Garnett and Jaric. I'd definitely do that deal. What about you TmacGarnett?
I wouldn't, I have a new Baron jersey and I intend to wear it next season watching Baron bash on people.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TmacGarnett:</div><div class="quote_post">haha thanks for the laugh</div> Actually, it appears Thunder the Warriors mascot's agent said that his client will not report to Minny if traded. Sigh...
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AlleyOop:</div><div class="quote_post">Ooh, the Warriors should punish Thunder by not trading him</div> Or by trading him the Hawks. This would be huge for the Warriors especially if they don't lose any key pieces.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting CohanHater:</div><div class="quote_post">Custodian, Who was the person who brought up the Baron trade before it happened?</div> I can't exactly remember. I do know it was a few warriors fans and a non-warriors fans saying something like "You lucky bastards, you're getting Baron Davis." a few days before the actual trade was announced on espn news or something.
