oh man i saw this when it happened.

i actually thought lebron was just faking it. because i've gotten so use to guys just going down trying to make the refs call a harder foul on the fouler. I mean even thought i know lebron was on defense. I just thought he was just trying to get a rest.

I really hope lebron is ok. i will pray for him.

I say LeBron will come out and play the next game. I just hope the injury isn't a concussion or another serious injury...

What a way to spend his birthday. Mutombo always does that elbow swinging thing. I'm not surprised he accidentally hit someone. Too bad it was James. It is a good thing the next game they have is one Monday against the Bobcats. It will give him more of a chance to recover. I still hope Cleaveland loses so my Knicks can take the #2 seed [IMG]

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Another common eye injury is a periorbital contusion or black eye. These injuries are caused by blunt trauma and need little care other than observation and ice to control the swelling. Remember to never place ice directly over the eye, always have a cloth between the eye and ice bag. The eye should be checked if there is degrading vision, or the swelling is uncontrolled</div>

Let's hope LeBron will be okay

I think they will probably suspend him. Last year they did that to Karl Malone when he did it to Steve Nash. I think Mutombo's will be more serious though.

LeBrons gotta wear the mask now or else he'll miss some games (while Detroit would take over the East). I just hope he doesn't wear it that long because its so annoyin seeing it on Rip Hamilton and these other players

Was it intential...if not it is basketball and you might catch some elbows while running through the lane.

Wasn't intentional but the NBA should suspend Mutumbo because he injured the KING

Than no...he didn't mean to hurt him but your playing a professional sport and things can happen. I mean the law rules the same for everyone and if this event happened with someone scrub it would not be a big deal.

He will heal up and be fine and it is no career ending injury.....It was a accident and things are going to happen....next time you see a guy come down on another guys foot and roll his ankle are you going to suspend him...no....you see a guy trip in open court and take down the dribbler with the fast break and he hurts his hands....your not going to suspend him.....Why? because things like these are going to happen in this game...if the nba suspended guys everytime for unintentionally hurting another player 1/2 the league would be gone.

But, Mutombo's actions could have been avoided so, that's why they might take action.

Anyone have a clip of it?

There was a list at either SI.com or ESPN.com that showed all of the players that have been hit by Mutombo's elbows, and it was rather long. IMO, he's not a dirty player, but he's done this enough to give him a bad rep. Players need to know to watch out for Mutombo if they are under the basket trying to get a board.

I just feel bad for Lebron - injuried on his 20th b-day.
