This is where kids at his school get a free "college education" by the way.

You can make fun if you want but video games and game engines have super charged research in a lot of areas, Artificial Inteligence, Robotics, Automation for examples. Then when you look at the video game industry itself it’s huge and has become the biggest (or one of them) in all of entertainment. Anyone whose spent any time at all creating games realizes it has many transferable skills too, art, mathematics, programming to name a few.

The article says "competitive video gaming" or e-sports. Not actual creating games.

The article also doesn't describe what the program will entail. Can you tell me what it all entails seeing as how you posted the topic.

    First sentence:

The president of a group that represents about 6,000 Ohio professors sent a scathing letter Friday to the University of Akron president and its board of trustees, questioning their push into competitive video gaming while eliminating academic programs.

Competitive video gaming means Esports so they'll probably have to make an arena of some sorts then they will offer scholarships for video game players basically

I read the article. It talked nothing of what the program entails. The programs being cut are ones that have very low participation and very few degrees and will be phased out over the next 4 to 5 years so that those who may be in a specific program can continue if they choose. No faculty will be laid off. Did you miss that portion of your article?

So you're just guessing and have no idea then. Thanks for the confirmation. Sounds like much ado about nothing and just a cheap way to slam LeBron James for offering a quality education. Unlike your man Trump who set up a phony university, collected millions and then folded with no refunds. Now that's a scam. Do you really know anything about the school?

Does Best Buy offer degrees in engineering, business marketing and many other major programs like Akron of Ohio. Do you think it's a good business practice to continue offering programs that have little participation?
