Well I have been a huge lebron fan since I first heard about him when he was in his sophmore grade in high school playing ball. He amazed me then and he still seems to amaze me night in and night out with his stellar play for his young of age at the highest level possible. To me he is the best player in the nba! Hands down, for what he has done for the cavaliers this year is amazing. He is embarissing veterans and proven stars in this league. But it doesn't stop there, for what he is doing for the game he should be recognized even greater. Merchandise sales are all up because of lebron, lebron has the fastest selling shoe in 2 years for nike, hes got sprite comercials and now this candy deal its amazing. The cavs are the second hottest ticket in the nba only behind the hall of fame team of the lakers. lebron is single handely bringing back fans and young kids to the nba. That is why he is the best around in the league today!!!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting cArMeLo15:</div><div class="quote_post">When can I smack you for saying LeBron is the best player in the league?</div> When was the last time you saw a rookie playing like him? Let alone, a 18/19 year old? *smacked*
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting CBBI:</div><div class="quote_post">LeBron is by far and away the best high schooler ever (in terms of first year)</div> Yup, so just think about when he reaches his peak, or just the next 2-3 years? I mean, what is this guy going to do?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting King James:</div><div class="quote_post">Yup, so just think about when he reaches his peak, or just the next 2-3 years? I mean, what is this guy going to do?</div> Seriously... the kid is averaging roughly 20/6/6 at age 19 without a consistant jumpshot. Plus he has not learned how to play defense yet via using his athleticism and long arms. And pretty soon he is going to start getting those Jordan-like superstar foul calls. Give this kid another two years to perfect his jumper to a Tracy McGrady-like level and to improve his defense to a Kobe Bryant-like level and you will have an outstanding player (who will only be 21 or 22!)
I think LeBron can shoot better than McGrady, even now, but he just has to have that confidence night in and night out and not be afraid, that is his only big problem right now. Big problem for a 19 year old though, ha.

LeBron has a few things to work on in terms of his jumper.... like that fading back thing when he is wide open...
McGrady is still very streaky, that's all I was getting at. He never stops shooting when he is off either.

^double post. Post whore. edit: Nice clean up KJ. Anyways, you shouldn't bash n00bs for thinking LeBron is the greatest player in the NBA. Many analysts think so. Why can't a fan?
How far fetched is it really to call him the best player, that is all I am saying. The only player you hear some experts saying that they would take over LeBron is KG. And last I saw, James had a much better start to his career, you can't compare Bron to KG right now, that is just silly and wrong.

Anyways, you shouldn't bash n00bs for thinking LeBron is the greatest player in the NBA. Many analysts think so. Thats ridiculous. I am not saying that because he's a rook. Seriously though, if you've looked at the stats, People like Tmac, and Iverson, and Pierce's numbers are better. I don't feel like going to nba.com, and getting the stat sheet man, you LeBron isn't the best. (Yet.)
I think if you're starting a franchise right now, and you're looking to build a contender for years to come, LeBron is the first guy you'd have to pick. Now if you're looking to win right NOW, I'd say Shaq. He is the most dominating player in NBA history. Some commentators have been arguing that proposal a few times in the last week, I can't remember exactly who. KG is my favorite non cav, so I'd also agree that he would be a good choice in either scenario. He's still got quite a few good years left. I don't even think he's reached his maximum potential, and that's scary. I mean he can't get that much better, but just imagine if he gained 20 or 25 lbs. of muscle, or just body weight!! A Shaq that can drain a three! Well, back to the subject, LJ in 2-3 years is gonna be downright SCARY!! I think his attitude will make him a better all around player than both Kobe and McGrady, who still lust for the individual accolades more than rings.
