According to this report, LeBron gave no notice to Miami before making his announcement on the ESPN web site. The guy is a great player, but apparently has no clue on how to handle these big decisions. When you're leaving an employer who has paid you millions and millions of dollars for the last 4 years, the least you can do is pay them the courtesy of telling them that you are leaving before everyone else knows. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/1...ami-heat-learned-lebron-james-decision-online
I don't feel bad for Miami, either. They benefited from this free-for-all free agent system, and now they are paying dearly for it. Looks like Bosh is leaving, too. I am just amazed at the way LeBron James handles these decisions. He has no clue.
When your a FA you don't have to tell the team your leaving that your leaving. How many other players do that?
Non-story to me. I thought going on TV with The Decision was tacky as a way to break the hearts of sports fans in his home state. The pathos of Slick Pat not knowing ahead of time somehow fails to resonate with me.
Dafuq Have you read the letter? He owed MIA nothing. And this thread could have gone into any of the other LeBron threads we have here.
The screw up was the "decision". How it was announced... ON national TV with an hour long special. Not that he went from the Cav's to the Heat. Not that he didn't tell the Cavs his plans. He didn't screw up this time and make it a scene. Just another basketball move. Personally I didn't watch his hour long dramatic decision last time. Nor would I have watched it this time. Much better way to announce you're going somewhere and move on. Don't have to tell anyone anything before hand. 1 dollar or 1 million. Doesn't change anything.
Well, for starters, your coach cares, and your GM, and the guys you played with for the last four years. And of course the fans who supported you for the last 4 years. Apparently Pat Riley and the Heat's owner were convinced that James was coming back, but he didn't pay them the courtesy of informing them first.
Are you just trolling? Because literally you are just believing everything you read on the ESPN? How do you know what went on behind closed doors, private phone calls, or texts? You don't. So how the hell do you know that LeBron didn't tell them prior?
So what if he didn't inform them first. Lebron played this so it wouldn't leak before his annoucement was made, and the "reported" feeling from Pat Riley after his meeting with Lebron was that he wasn't sure what LBJ was going to do.
You seem to be the one trolling. I said that "according to this report," LeBron didn't tell Miami that he was leaving. I have no idea what went on behind closed doors, and neither do you. We only know what we read in the press. Are you upset that I posted an article from ESPN, one of the most respected sports reporting organizations in the world? If you want to throw a little panty-waisted fit, why don't you call ESPN and scream at them?
LOL. I personally don't give a fuck what he did, but judging by your heavily opinionated replies apparently you're the one having a 'fit'.
For the record, you said "he screws up again"... That's a pretty strong word for "just a report", considering you don't know... but hell, you'll throw him under the bus. Yeah. I'm on their side... you gave an opinion (and a rather foot-firmly-in-the-ground one at that) on something that's not factual, but just based on a hearsay report that can't be substatinated any further given it's not for the public to see... and then get mad when someone called you on it for being premature. C'mon shooter... Welll, at least when you post next,I get to see the avatar again. Bonus!
