Well Looking at the numbers you would realize that kobe in his rookie year did not have the opportunity to play the minutes that Lebrone had but if you do the math Kobes numbers were better then Lebrones. Kobe is far more superior to lebron in every way. Lebron was all hype and if you were smart enough to read this whole thread you now know that your not an idiot that doesnt read the thread before replying. The real reason for this thread is to show how many people reply to a thread without reading its authors true questions or oppinions. they blindly write a reply to something they havent even read and write with feelings like they have actually read it. Its annoying when people defend a point that was never challenged in the thread. So if youve read this far Please dont reply to this thread, Im curious to see how many idiots post without reading Thanks for your time(u dont have to read on the rest is fluff). Kobe may not be as tall as Lebron but he sure can throw it down way better than him. Kobe is sometimes gretaer them Jordan in some aspects. Well Looking at the numbers you would realize that kobe in his rookie year did not have the opportunity to play the minutes that Lebrone had but if you do the math Kobes numbers were better then Lebrones. OK..first off nobody will ever be as great as michael jordan. You can compare stats all you want, but look at the awards..MVP, defensive player of the year a few times, scoring champion, steals, assists, all star MVP, everything and kobe doesnt have most of that. Second, stats arent that important ok?You can compare stats all you want, but look who makes his teammates better. Kobe tries to do it all but he cant. Lebron does it all and makes his teammates better. And who the hell told you kobe can throw it down better then lebron? LMFAO! Lebron is still a teenager and can fly better than Kobe. Jesus kid, where have you been. And i just read your weird comments once again to see how you make a big deal about numbers. Ok, i guess they are important, but they dont sum up who is a better player or not. Vince Carter has almost identical stats to MJ, but MJ is much more superior. Also, Kobe had shaq. Lebron has nobody. So quit your talking if your not gonna back up your argument with something other than just his numbers were better his rookie year..thanks
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting michiganave17:</div><div class="quote_post"> Kobe is far more superior to lebron in every way.</div> That is plain arrogance. I can point out at no point in Kobe's entire career has he averaged 7 rebounds per game, which Lebron is doing already in his second year. I can point out that at no point Kobe's entire career has Kobe averaged more than 6.1 assists per game, which Lebron is averaging 7.3 in his second year. Kobe averages almost an entire turnover more than Lebron a game. Lebron's steals per game matches Kobes Career best steals per game year. I'm not saying Lebron is better than Kobe. Nor am I ruling out that Lebron will be better than Kobe. However for one to claim that Kobe is far superior to Lebron in everyway is clearly a wrong statement. You said the numbers don't lie, and I have proven my facts with statistics. Your turn.
Stats should never, ever tell the whole story. As of right now, LeBron's defense is atrocious. Kobe is usually a great defender, but he's been mediocre this season. I don't think LeBron will develop a pure shot, and I don't think Kobe will ever stop forcing stupid shots in crunch time. LeBron's a better passer, and Kobe's a better scorer. NEITHER player makes their teammates better at this point(probably due to the fact that they have crap on their team). Boils down to... nothing. It'll come down to winning championships. Right now, Kobe 3, LeBron 0. Ali, you made 2 good points and 3 horrendous ones. First, LeBron's a better leaper than Kobe, but he's not the dunker that Kobe is. No comparisons. Secondly, LeBron isn't making anyone better. Thirdly, MJ has vastly superior stats to Vince, Kobe and LeBron.

Can we close this thread? This is why Kobe fans are looked at as jock riders, this thread disgusts me...Nothing good will come from it, we had one similar to it in the Laker forum about 2 months back.

Calm down no need for verbal assaults. ITS ONLY A POST! LOL!
The funny thing is that right now the only thing seperating him from being better than Kobe is his defense, and the margin is hardly visible between them. Kobe's defense has also been a little down lately, but I feel Kobe is still the better player. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Boils down to... nothing. It'll come down to winning championships. Right now, Kobe 3, LeBron 0. </div> Yes, but Kobe had Shaq, that doesn't take away much from his individual accomplishments, but unless Lebron get's another Top player, or a pretty good team around him, you can't compare team accomplishments of his and Kobe's. Also Lebron is in his second year and is 20 years old, so without injury, he has a lot of time to do it. By next year Lebron will likely be the better player, seeing his work ethic, and how he's already improved this season, it seems inevitable. His defense on the ball needs work though, he's at best an average defender, but Kobe8Ball said it right, this is stupid.

Kobe was considered a sub-par defender his first few seasons. Even Jordan was regarded as a suspect defensive player his first 2 or 3 years. I don't think anyone can project that LeBron won't be as good as Kobe based on his defense at such a young age.

Robert Horry has 5 rings, and Malone and Barkley have 0 rings. Therefore ... what? He's better than those two? Ridiculous. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">First, LeBron's a better leaper than Kobe, but he's not the dunker that Kobe is. No comparisons. To me, that's all that matter as far as who's a better in game dunker. Your team doesn't get extra points if you have a more stylish dunk. I sort of agree with your second point (kind of subjective), and the third point is true particularly if you look at his prime years, though the gap isn't as much as one might think just looking at the raw stats. Offensive stats were greatly inflated in the 80s overall, because of the fast-paced game and lack of focus on team defense.
Kobe sets his teammates perfectly.. But they cant hit a thing. You dont get paid millions of dollars to miss an open jump shot
