For the first time in his career, LeBron's put together a streak of 6 straight games where he's shot 40% or better. In a rookie season that's been full of ups and downs, the Phenom is putting together a nice little run, and it couldn't have come at a better time. Not surprisingly, the Cavaliers won 5 of these games. 2/27 @Orl W 112-107, 11-19 .579, 30 pts. 3/1 @Chi L 92-81, 7-17 .412, 18 pts. 3/3 Atl W 112-80, 9-17 .529, 24 pts. 3/5 @Nor W 88-85, 7-17 .412, 19 pts. 3/6 Mil W 106-97, 11-24 .458, 24 pts. 3/8 @Atl W 108-102, 11-23 .478, 34 pts.
Yeah, somebody said he wouldn't be able to handle the pressure of the playoffs! Hasn't this kid proved everybody wrong yet? Pressure?! The only pressure this kid feels on the court comes from his headband. He'll elevate his game to another level once again. I can't wait! Yeah, I'm countin my chickens before they hatch, but hey, I've got faith. Faith in the Cavs, and faith in this weak division. If LeBron can keep up that pace, we'll be in the driver's seat.
He's taking it to the hole with authority now, instead of dropping back and settling for low % 3 pointers. Silas and practically everyone else probably got on him about that, so now we're seeing the result of that change. Hope he keeps it up.
he is the most explosive player in the nba off the dribble RIGHT NOW. PERIOD. all he needs to do is shoot 40% all the time and he's unguardable on offense. id like to see him become more consistent on defense, he still gets burned alot. i was impressed with his effort on redd last saturday, i wouldnt be surprised if he draws air canada tomorrow night, that would be interesting to watch. But if at 18, thats my biggest concern about the phenom, ill sleep pretty well at night. You gotta love him clevelanders.
LeBron still needs to work on his shot selection. When ever he pulls off a great play, he will try to drop the exclamation point with a fade away jumper afterwords or try to drain a 3 ball w/o even thinking of passing the ball.
Nice to see this, I read some posts in the NBA Forum and cats were knocking James about his FG% and such. It's just amazing how they try and find the slightest thing wrong with his game.
His baseline fadeaway shot is quickly becoming a nice weapon in his arsenal. I used to cringe when I saw him shoot that shot, but he's been making them with some regularity. What do you guys think of his "nice guy" attitude towards opponents? Will it wear off? Michael HATED his opponents, at least during the games. LJ likes to joke around a lot. Maybe too much, IMO.
If he could just quit fading back on all of his shots he's going to develop a Tracy McGrady like outside shot in a couple of years. He bends down and then pushes back when he jumps so everything hits front rim when he misses. If he could go straight up I think he would be in much better shape. Of course he's obviously comfortable doing what he's doing, so I don't know if he'll ever change. Once his shot selection gets better, I think he can shoot mid 40s from the field if not higher.

And tonight we proved we can win big without James on fire. He affects this team in so many ways, not just his scoring. His play of late has been more like a 4 year vet. Our players have responded so well off him. A leader at 19. Oh my!
That pass he had to Z for that dunk was just mind popping. I never seen Z dunk the ball that hard ever.
James's drive and "pro hop" to the basket for the layup/dunk as it is so affectionatly known as on NBA live is getting insanely difficult to defend.
It's almost like these players haven't ever seen that move! Dominique used to love that "body control" move, the hop step. It gives him so many options, and freezes the defender. The move he made last night where he cut across the key looked like it would hurt, such a dramatic change in direction, and he could've punched it on that dude! It seems like every game we see something new, or a new variation of an "old school" type of move.
^^^ Donyell Marshall?? Yea he's finally got a coulpe of consistent games, good stuff, I think he shouldn't take as many jumpers though, 68% of his shots are mid-long range jumpers and he's not that good a shooter. Look at Wade, he can shoot (not that consistent) but if he doesn't have to he's not going to. Only 48% of Wade's shots are mid to long range jumpers, yea Lebron isn't as quick as him, but he should be able to get in the lane like that too. Even Melo only 51% of his shots are mid-long range jumpers. Melo also has a very quick first step (not like Wade's), but if LJ was doing that he'd be shooting 43% or better.
LeBron has a lack of shooters around him, so that is common knowledge that James has a tougher time getting to the hole as it is congested a lot with teams playing a zone defense daring the Cavs to shoot it.
Yea and people also play off him a lot, but Wade is also play off of and doesn't have players you'd really consider "shooters" except for Eddie (Rafer can but no one resepects it too much). I think LJ can do it if he really wanted too, but it would also help to have a shooter in the lineup to spread the floor.
The Cavs are the worst shooting team in the NBA from deep, you would be shocked about what a difference having someone like Eddie Jones makes on the court, because you can't leave him open. That opens up the lane for your penetrators.
