<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> December 25, 2006 -- David Lee has been their most effective, most popular player - the gritty embodiment of what the Knicks are supposed to be about. Lee was in the forefront of the Knicks' two miracle overtime buzzer-beating victories last week. So it is the hope Lee's eggnog was not too strong when he predicted the Knicks could win the awful Atlantic Division that now sees the heavy-favorite Nets in deep trouble. Just 11/2 games separate the fourth-place Knicks from the first-place Raptors. In truth, winning the Atlantic might be the only way the Knicks make the playoffs. "Going into the year, New Jersey, because they won it last year and done well the last few years, they were favorite going into the season to win the Atlantic," Lee said. "They've had their struggles as has everyone else in the (division). I don't see any reason why we can't win this division this year, but it's going to take a total team effort and focus." </div> Link What do you guys think? Right now, the Knicks seemed to be in the best shape to win the Atlantic with having their key leading players leading the team right now, while guys like Bosh, Krstic, and Pierce are out with an injury in their respective teams. Not to mention the Knicks are only a game and a half away from the lead, and I think they can pull away as division champions.
Its possible, considering they are only 1 1/2 games away from first place. How long is Pierce out btw? I'm sure Isaiah wants the team to win considering his job is on the line.
