http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060926/ap_on_...dinals_warner_2 I put the ? b/c nothing official from AZ has been made. Of course ESPN's Chris Mortenson chose to take the initiative & state that Matt will start in replacement of former SB MVP Kurt Warner. Another rush to judgement perhaps, but should be interesting to see what coach Dennis Green ultimately decides.
I have to agree with this move, I am in favor of throwing the rookie in early. Warners fumbled 8 times in 3 games he is on pace to shatter collins' record
Warner is the most overrated player to ever play the game in my opinion. It's about time people relize that and this is a great move for the Cardinals. Leinart is the future and he should do well with the weapons around him.

I don't judge the Cardinals too harshly so far. Yes, the Rams loss was probably a little disappointing, but it was close and some people expected the Rams to be pretty good this year. No one can blame them too much for losing to Seattle at this point, so 1-2 isn't that far out of reason. It will be interesting to see what Matt has.
http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/story/9687087 rumor is not true as of now Dennis Green is gonna stick with Warner, though if the rumor is out this early, Lienart will probably play this season it seems. I also disliked Warner he was definatly good on the Rams but on the Giants and Cardinals he fumbles too much whenever he gets sacked and hes just past his prime.
I think Lienart should have started Warner has bad hands fumbles to much and throws way to many picks

I am always in favor of having a rookie QB sit and learn. Leinart may be the only exception to that rule since he comes from an NFL style system, but he can still learn quite a bit by watching the game from the pine. With or without Leinert behind center, AZ is not going anywhere. Take a page from the Bengals playbook - letting your future QB learn is better than trying to eek out an 8-8 or 7-9 season and ruin a rookie QB.
He will be making his first start next week.It should be in vain though as today he had a fumble, int, and punt in his 3 posessions..
