The next 6 weeks will suck ass my friends. Guys will show up the first week of September, but this is def the beginning of the worst time of year. Just hopped on here and there are 10 people on here and only 3 members. The MVPs of the forum......BrianFromTheMiddleEast, PapaG and myself!

At least it's only 40 days til the Ducks kick off!

I'm looking for some sort of basketball fix right now, and the closest thing I can find is the FIBA Americans Championships start in late August and run til mid-September.

USA is exempt from competing, but there should still be a lot of NBA players in it. I looked for rosters, and although I couldn't find any, I know that Venezuela's probably going to have Greivis Vasquez playing, as the host country. Canada, Brazil, and Argentina could fill their rosters full of NBA/NCAA/Euroleague talent, and the Dominican Republic could bring in guys like Horford, Villanueva, Garcia, and the 2015 lotto prospect Karl Towns.

Traditionally, the winner of the tournament gets an automatic bid into the next Olympics, so I wouldn't be surprised if guys like Horford, Splitter, Huertas, Barbosa, and Thompson participated. I guess the question is whether or not the old guys from Argentina will participate (Ginobili, Scola, Delfino, Nocioni, etc.).

I'd at least watch the final four of that tournament.

To be fair, I'm only here because Julius and I are covering Sly's shifts while he's serving Denny's double-secret probation.

USAB camp updates should start coming from today. Scrimmage amongst the teams on the 25th (not sure if this is televised). I'm hoping Dame makes some noise here. Have you guys noticed how every player that competes in these sessions comes out beasting the season after? KLove/Kyrie/Holiday/Curry etc.

Also, Eurobasket starts up in < 2 months. Nic is playing this year. We get at most like a month off. Could use it tbh.

Here's the website. Starts September 4th. Which means there will be warmup games in August. Kostas Papanikolaou better not play well.

As far as I know, Claver, Batum and Freeland will all be playing, as well as ex-Blazers Khryapa, Monia, Rudy & Sergio and never-weres like KP and Petteri Koponen (Finland having made it for the first time). It's in Slovenia, and they'll have a formidable front line of Vucevic and Pekovic.

you mean, Kostas Papanikolou that signed a 4 year deal with Barcelona? Yeah, I'd much rather have him as the MVP of the Spanish League than Robinson putting in 20 minutes of good work a night for us for the next 3 years minimum

Still hoping that a big trade goes down for the Blazers during the dog days.

That's the one. I bet the Bulls are kicking themselves for selecting Mirotic who is still under contract with Real Madrid, when they could've had some immediate help, like we got with our pick of Nolan Smith.
