Discuss your ambitions, dreams, goals, achievements, etc, here.

My question to you guys is:

Where do you hope to be in 10 years?

I know they usually ask something like that in job interviews but if you just step back and look at where you're going in life right now, you probably have a certain path you want to follow - not just in terms of career, but everything else in life as well.

I hope to be doing something that I can't predict right now.

i want to be a billionaire, seriously. i have a few ideas, all i need now is to raise the sufficient capital to get the ball rolling. in regards to short term goals- i hope to start working full time by jan 2007 in the investment (securities) field, which means i'll go back to being a part time poster very soon. don't wont to get married cause i've witnessed a dysfunctional marriage first hand in my parents.

You don't EVER want to get married, or just not until you've satisfied every personal goal?

My deal with my parents is I told them that there's no way I'm getting married until I'm out of University and satisfied with where I am in life. And no way in hell am I doing one of those "go back to the home country and get bombarded with marriage offers" deals either. My friend's brother just went back recently and he got like atleast 10 proposals a day or something (could be an exxaggeration, I'm not sure the exact number but he got a lot). As soon as they hear "Canada", they automatically assume we must be living the high life, with the finest foods and maids and butlers.

No way in hell would I ever marry a girl from India. I'm too whitewashed at this point (lol) and you can't trust that sh*t. Like 80% of those marriages are about getting a visa and then bailing.

Well....where to start. When I was 16 I wrote a monologue for english class that my teacher practically jizzed on when she read. She convinced me I should be a writer......I went to school ENGLISH MAJOR AND DROPPED OUT AFTER 6 months. I spent 8 months pretty much staring at a blank microsoft word document.....I purchased Screenwriter and I nailed down a script for a movie in 3 months called "1 more hit." It has sit on the shelf since....I showed it to a couple of agents and through other channels but not a sniff of anything. I actually think it was pretty good. Bills/girlfriend/crazy parents/the weight of the world crushed my spirt, so i have decided to go back to school part time while working. I choose to whore my self out and go into business. My girlfriend cheated on me, and now am single....

there is little left in the way of hope, so I play the lottery every week. Can't hurt.....

Ten years from now I really have no idea were I'm going to be. Things are going to become a lot clearer for me within the first year after high school. I'm still unsure of my post graduation future. I'm going to party it up as much as possible for a couple years, hopefully have a good job, and eventually settle down and have kids by early-mid 20's.

I'm not sure what I want to do yet, of course every kid has his dreams (baller, rapper, lol) but even if I don't make those two I'll have my education to back me. Right now I'm 16 and when I graduate I'll have my AA Degree because I'm in college. The thing is the degree is nothing if you can't put it to use. I'm still searching for a career. But eventually I just want to get paid, start a family eventually, but one thing is, as a person you can't be immortal, but you can still make something that will last forever if your good enough.

Why would you wanna do that? That just gets you behind in terms of college and all that. I mean college isn't for everybody but partying up doesn't sound like a good idea after high school, you should just do all that bulls**t while your in high school.

In high school, you should get good grades so that you can get into the party schools. Remember, in college all you have to do is pass and you get your degree. If you get all C's, you're going to end up in the same boat at the straight A guy (unless you didn't comprehend the material).

It's too hard to say, I mean ideally I'd like to have a career of some sort, a nice house with a white picket fence, all the usual mumbo jumbo you usually hear about with these type of questions, but to be honest, I still have no idea what I want to do with my life, I'm basically just living for the moment, what ever happens, happens.

In the next 10 years, I want to continue to have my health and be able to stay active. My long term goal is to be able to snowboard while I'm 70 years old and not worry about shattering my hip if I fall.

I'm approaching the "start a family stage in my life." I've been with the same girl for 3 years and I plan on marrying her. She's the ****!

Career wise I'm pretty set already, project management pays well and it's never boring. Plus I have the freedom to travel and don't have to deal with the Corporate politics and stress levels most people endure.

The only dilemma I'm dealing with is where I want to settle down. I'm torn 3 ways right now between SoCal, NorCal, and Switzerland. A lot of my close friends are in SoCal along with business opportunities. However, the majoriy of my family is in San Francisco and in Switzerland & France. I'd rather raise my kids in NorCal or Switzerland because the school systems are better and family is their to help watch them and nurture them.

I have a sister in France, she lives near the Swiss border, and I love the European approach to everything evolving around family first and not job first. I've never spent more than a few weeks at a time in Switzerland, so I'd like to experience living their for a couple of years before I committed to actually settling down in Switzerland.

I still want to travel to a few more countries in the next two or three years, before I start producing babies. There's parts of Asia I haven't been to yet, I've never been to Australia or South America either. I'd also like to visit the Eastern part of the US aswell.

I think Business is actually a safe choice...I don't know how it is in University, but in highschool Business is perhaps the most easiest "serious" course, which prompts a lot of kids into thinking they can all be successful businessmen based on thier high school business marks. How hard is it in Uni?

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">eventually settle down and have kids by early-mid 20's.</div>

That's actually REALLY early to have kids. I think the main problem will be financially planning that scenario out, because kids in themselves are quite a burden to say the least (financially I mean), especially considering that you'll still be in school and won't have your career completely set yet.

I'm most likely not going to college, not due to grades, but simply because I cant. I'm going to enjoy life after high school probably travel a little and just have fun while I'm young. Life is too short.

That sounds really interesting. What are you going to do in terms of a job? I mean with just a highschool diploma, you won't get a rich job.

The common misconception that people have in America is that simple because you have a college diploma you will leave college in four years and automatically find a high paying job, pay back student loans, and live a great life from there. Not saying that having a college diploma does not increase your chances of having that happen, it does don't get me wrong. However, just because you have a degree does not mean you will find a high paying job, nor does not having one mean you won't find a high paying job.

As far as a job goes, like I said, things are going to become really clear to me once I graduate. I might not even stay in the United States upon graduation. So right now I can't really answer your question.

never want to get married but i honestly waiver. i've had two girls break up with me cause they thought i was paranoid, maybe i' don't have the mental makeup to live with someone else. i just don't think i'm stable enough to ever settle down to be honest.
