Knocked LeBron out of Top 5 finally after tonight . When's the last time the Blazers have had a Top 5 scorer in the league this deep into season? Just his first season leading the team and he's already reached this status, amazing..
I'm not as impressed by the raw totals as I am the fact that his usage rate has skyrocketed, but his averages haven't really taken a hit. That is hard to do.
Doubt it. He's still the second best scorer in the NBA. Lillard is just a victim of the Kobe victory lap treatment. Besides a more important honor is making all-NBA, something I think lillard will do.
All I see is people saying "it's because of Kobe", but what's really beyond me is how everybody seems to think Klay Thompson is better than Dame. How is that even possible. That's the spot Dame should have taken if you ask me.
Curry/WB - 1st team Paul/Harden - 2nd team (I know Harden is controversial, but he's going to make either 2nd or 3rd just on stats alone) Lillard/Lowry/Butler/Thompson/Derozan - All fighting for the 3rd team. It's going to be tough, but obviously it depends on how each player plays out the rest of the season.
I don't want lillard making an all nba team. #1- isn't he going to make more if he does from the rose rule? #2- don't they announce these around playoff time? I want dame to feel slighted. So he can go HAM in the playoffs
Yes on #1 - It will give us less cap space if he makes at least 3rd team. Not that Dame doesn't deserve the money but it would help us out in future free agent years if he doesn't make it. No idea on #2. I think it is after the season though.
Capspace be damned. If he earns it (which would probably require a playoff berth and continuing his hot streak) then I'd rather he got it. If he misses out on enough honors over his career that just increases the likelihood that he puts two and two together and concludes playing in an NBA backwater like Portland is hurting him. Who says Addidas keeps him if he can't keep collecting the awards?
Lillard and Lowry will be third team, there is no way Klay beats out Dame twice for an award this season.
Does Lillard even need money anymore? I don't think money drives him, honestly. And I don't think he's an award seeker... his agent may be, but he isn't. He learned from the ASG fiasco last year... I think he is so team focused now.
Jinx thread. Sidebar: He better make an All NBA team. If Klay gets in over him again, I will be irate. Fuck the capspace, we don't need it anyway.
If he wasn't into the money he wouldn't be doing endoresement deals. In any case he should be in it for the money. He's got about ten years to maximize his earning potential and he's a fool if he's not thinking about that.
This... he's done with the All Stars - he'll show up if he gets in after this but that kind of recognition no longer matters to him. Did you see the tweet after the GS game where a person was talking about how the NBA Coaches see him now! Damian's response was, "I don't care what they see"... and in my head he dropped the mic and walked off. Damian is a BAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD MAN.
I'm saying now and in the future, not then. I realize you don't like to be wrong, but that should have been logical in my post. He's set for life. He has 100 mil already, plus the max money from this deal. If he can't live off of that for the rest of his life... Would you turn down 100 million when you had never had 100 million before? Then, would you turn down a few million after already knowing you're set for life? These are really simple logical questions that I can't believe I had to ask and explain. But for some, I guess I did.
