That guy has NEVER been able to play defense... And that sorry contract.
Also, why are we already talking about the off-season? Feels like bad juju to me.
Trading with teams like Philly and Boston makes no sense this summer. Both of those teams have thoughts of contending for a title next year. They don't want guys like Simons and Trent or more draft picks that aren't even that good. Boston already has 3 1st round picks and that could be 4 if Memphis falls one spot in the lottery tonight. Neither of those teams would want to take on expiring contracts to give up a good player either. Those type of moves are for rebuilding teams.
So if you want guys like Butler, Hayward, or Brown you need to come up with a team that can give them something that actually helps them next year.
Hayward is actually about as average of a defender as you can find. Not good but not a liability either.
Maybe Philly wants Turner back
Horrible contract. In a couple years we will need to re-sign Lillard, McCollum and Nurkic.
LOL, good one!
That's one opinion, but none of us know what Philly and Boston are willing to do and what they want. There is always a possibility of of a 3rd team involved as well. Boston is heavy with wings and Brown will be coming up for a contract. In Boston, a lot will depend on what Irving does and how much that costs them if he re-signs. I have been watching NBA basketball since I was about 7 years old and what I have seen over the years, never say never as I have seen a lot of trades that make you scratch your head.
I've said the 3rd team thing in 4 different posts in this thread including the one you responded to so I don't get why you feel the need to let me know "there is always the possibility of a 3rd team involved."
As for what Boston and Philly will do, it's this thing called common sense.
sometimes you should just let things go as your response about mentioning a 3 way was really unnecessary. Sometimes you need to learn not to nit pick so often. Common sense from a poster means nothing to me in a fan forum, but thanks for the opinion.
So is it theoretically possible?
Theoretically, yes, but extremely difficult.
I think Butler could *theoretically** force his way to Portland. He could tell Philly listen I’m leaving, so you could either get something or get nothing. Idk, maybe not, just thinking out loud. I think I’m already drunk
The problem is they'd have to take back equal salary so why would they want to take back our crap instead of just pursuing others in free agency with that cap space?
Jimmy Butler: ‘I will get a max contract anywhere I choose to go’
I'd have to think Vonleh is still set to improve on those numbers.
Agreed. And Aminu won't.
