i know we've had a couple discussions about who is better but its nice to just look at the stats side by side..im taking lillard https://twitter.com/fullcourtprez/status/421060636961812481/photo/1
Both are deadly scoring guards with their shooting range. They'll have a great rivalry for years to come!
Curry is a better passer and better at finishing at the rim as well as having a decent mid range game as well. With that being said everything Curry does, save for having better court vision, I think Lillard can work at and do as well. Lillard also has a desire to be better defensively which doesn't seem to be the case with Curry. Currys better at the moment, but I think Lillard will even the playing field soon.
He's in, unless - A: Kobe Plays *AND* B: Tony Parker gets more coach votes than Lillard *AND* C: Stern names someone else much less deserving instead of Lillard as Chris Paul's replacement (Dragic, Lawson etc.) All that makes a very unlikely scenario. He's basically a lock at this point, unless the Blazers lose 10 in a row or something crazy like that.
I doubt Lillard will ever develop the PG skills that Curry has. Curry is flat out a better PG, and probably always will be. Dame needs to become a lock-down defender to make up for his team-running deficiencies in order to surpass Curry.
And, I think that rivalry is enhanced by the fact the Curry plays for Lillard's hometown team. Lillard will always be motivated to play his best in front of his family and friends. BNM
I would pick Lillard purely on health, but am surprised the numbers are so good in comparison. I would have bet money that Curry had more makes.
you're talking about the pg of a team with a top 5 offense in the league? just because his assist numbers arent that high doesnt mean he isnt "runnin" the team well. have you ever heard any player talk about stats being more important than winning? how bout curry averaging almost 2 more TO's a game than dame?
Yeah, Curry's AST% of 41.9 is pretty damned impressive, especially for a guy with a USG% of 28.5. He's definitely the guy that makes that Golden State offense work. BNM
