He seems quicker to the play and is really fighting through screens. He had 2 steals, but could have had three if they called that strip off the leg in the 3rd. Even though Lillard isn't known for defense; he is starting to really improve that part of his game already. Lillard is something special.

Along with scouting, I think that explains part of his "disappearing" from the offense from time to time

His improvement has really come on quickly. He doesn't seem to get faked out as often now.
He'll be a much more impactful player (even more so) without his counterparts scoring as easily as they did earlier in the season.

I thought he had the tools all along, but the speed that he has improved has been impressive.

    Well done Dame!

I think it's wishful thinking.... He's really bad on defense.

Speaking of lillard the clipper announcer was trying very hard not to give him rookie of year saying Davis has a great shot still. I got the sense the old guy hated blazers

I was one of the people who has been quite harsh about his defense initially.
Sure he's not a 'great' defender, but he has improved quite a bit recently, in only half a season - so that gives me some hope that he'll continue to develop into a 'non liability' on defense.

And that old geezer commentater for the Clips was basing his view on what-ifs. What a knob.
Based on real world output so far, Lillard is the ROY easily. He just couldn't handle it

You guys hating on Ralph Lawler are cracking me up. He's one of the best, least biased, announcers in the league.

It's not wishful thinking to think that Lillard could become an above average defender. It would if you think he will be very good at defense. All we need from Lillard is to stay close to his man and fight through picks. He needs a center that can protect the paint so he could force his man into the teeth of the help. If he learns that; then it's a success!

Don't hate him, thought his commentating was ok, but his comments about Lillard not winning ROY seemed a bit ludicrous.

It would take a serious slump and another rookie going beast mode for Lillard to lose the ROY at this point.

he was praising lillard all game! every time he made a shot or a play it was "can you believe this kid is a rookie?"

and giving props to batum too, big time

one thing he said that i thought was funny, during the clips run in the 4th "all star lamarcus aldridge has 2 points....in the 2nd half"

I like Ralph as well. All those years of the Clippers sucking has kept him un-biased. Although I did not hear him mention after the game how "Lawler's Law" took a big hit. (First team to 100 wins) It was 100-91 with 2:30 left in the game. But then I thought it was over too.

    This.

I was actually enjoying their approach...although Lawler does say "Bingo!" and "Oh me oh my!" more times than I can fathom.

Never said he was bias. I just hate his tone. It's like a gramps trying to tell me jokes he thought was funny. Just out of the loop... I hated Walton too. I hated his "bring it DOWN big fella!" Comments. Just my opinion
