"Gosder Cherilus, the Lions' starting right tackle, was a bystander Thursday as the team held its third organized training activity (OTA) of the offseason.

But Cherilus, who underwent arthroscopic surgery to clean out his right knee April 13, doesn't expect to be sidelined for long, already halfway through an expected four- to six-week recovery period after surgery.

"I'm just showing up every day, doing what I'm supposed to do," said Cherilus, who aggravated the troublesome knee in late March during a conditioning workout. "When the trainers say I can go, I'm going.

"It's been there for a while, but at the end of the day, we got it taken care of, and hopefully soon ... I'll be back before you know it.""
