According to reports here in mich harrngton may be released and they may try and sign a veteran like brad noodle arm johnson, warner, garcia or matt hassleback. I figured bears would love to hear this, he loves harrington and wants him for the bears. [IMG]

Holy Crap they got impatient, if they had a consistent running game and a healthy Rogers this would not be happening.

It's another example how impatient teams are with QB's these days. Can you imagine what would have happened to Terry Bradshaw if he was playing today, he would never had a chance.

giants lions running game was inconsistent for one reason. Kevin jones was splitting carrys with artose pinner and byson for the first 8 weeks. Marruchi finally realized they drafted this great rb and he took off when he got more then 13 carrys a game. The result jones hit for over 1000 yards.

*cough* Ryan Leaf* well okay maybe not leaf but i guarantee you that some QB's til this day deserve to start. There are the Drew Brees' of the league but i beleive ther will never be more than 25 good QB's in the league

I still think Kevin Jones is overrated............. i knew he was hurt for a couple of weeks but i remeber seeing several games with the amount like 13 carries 27 yards and etc just statistically horrible.... ill give him that he picked it up in the end

I would not mind seeing him in Miami. It would be "funny" to see him beat Feeley for the QB gig again.

If Favre retires, I'd love to see Harrington come to Green Bay.

The Lions have jumped all over this. The report said that they were going to release him to avoid a $3 million bonus. According to the Lions, there is no bonus or any thoughts of releasing Harrington. Eh we'll see

If they were really serious about releasing Harrington, they would have play McMahon more towards the end of the season to see what he's got. Personally, I think the Lions take a step back if they release Joey. he has had a lot of adversity on offense with all the injuries. I don't think Joey is all that great but he is serviceable and can lead the team with all those potential stars they have on offense.

Actually tom killer kowalski reported it and he goes to every lions practices, press confrences etc. He does all the reporting for detrout and despite marrcuhi and millen denying it, kowalski says he was informed by insiders in the lions org of harrington release. The lions want harrington to restructure his deal first. Then think of bringing in a veteran qb next year to start. Keyowrd to start. The players lions have interest in are kurt warner, john kitna, jeff garcia, matt hassleback. All of which have played a west coast offense style offense at one point.

As for mike mcmahon he isnt the future for detroit and he likley will not be back. The lions show cased him for one game. He did ok nothing special. Next week the struggling harrington had his job back.
