LMA and Nic? If full rebuild do we keep them?

This question has to be asked, if we are doing a full rebuild do we now try to get max value for LMA when his value may not get much higher? and do we bother resigning Nic if he wants 10 mil?

Tough questions, and I am torn and will think on it more

What does next year's draft look like?

Any potential Lebrons or Durants out there?

You can't go wrong with either:

    *Nerlens Noel
    *Cody Zeller
    *Shabazz Muhammad

Trade both picks, Wes Matthews and LMA for Dwight Howard?

Hope to sign Deron Williams as a FA?

    Hope that Dwight Howard resigns?

    Fill in as needed?

Boy that would be the boldest All-In ever.

IMO it would be the dumbest move ever, with the pieces we have left Dwight would be gone so fst the POR rain would not touch him

I don't understand why some of you are leaping to the conclusion that giving the full GM designation to Buchanan, if that turns out to be true, equates to a decision to do a full rebuild. Chad has been the guy saying all along that the Blazers would look to do whatever is necessary to add a current All-Star caliber player to the roster this summer, including, if necessary, moving one or both picks to do it. What's changed?

from what i've heard/read there are no Lebrons, no one from this class has seperated themselves from everyone else like james and oden did. durant is such a different story b/c he was good in HS but exploded on the scene at UT. the one thing i have heard over and over is the depth next year is not there. it will be a typical top three and big drop off after that according to the "experts."

Well if he won't resign we threaten to break his knees like we did with Oden. No way he wants 3 microfractures.

Didn't say it would be a good idea, just that it would bold.

No. Nic maybe because of age, but he is no one to build around

tend to agree on NIC because of likely having to give him 10 mil per and he has not at all shown he can be a build around guy IMO

There is obviously risk. But if you have given into the idea that it's going to be a full rebuild, why not? If we lose him, so it takes longer. But if we don't, look at what we have. Acquiring Howard before the free agent period would make us very appealing to Deron Williams. And if Deron is involved, I would think Dwight would look at us more closely.

It's kind of funny. Acquring someone who we don't feel has a chance in signing long term may help us land another player we didn't feel we had a chance in landing in only landing the other we felt we didn't have any chance of signing long term. If any of that made sense

BTW. There is risk involved doing it the other way with out Howard. Just look at the Roy, Oden era.

That's what happened with Boston. KG rejected a trade to Boston. They then trade for Ray Allen and he is like oh, okay I'm on board.

Here is the key. Teams that are serious about winning, Go out and do what they need to do it and say hell with the consequences. That's what the Celtics did, The Heat did and that's what the Lakers do every time they rebuild. It's why they have all those banners. Fukk the consequences, just do it.

If we lose Howard out of it, atleast we got Deron. Something we wouldn't have had without him. Is the team better off with Deron or LA and two number one draft picks? Deron is an alpha. LA is not and there is obviously no guarantee with the other two picks.

    Something to think about.

    Easy question.

Of course we keep them. We need to build on their talent.

Yes, we keep them. If we can get one more star-caliber player we can build around them and try to pretend we have a new "big 3."

I have long been on the Nic bandwagon. No more. If he was going to step up, last season was the time to do it.
