And this is why superstars don't come to Portland willingly

lmfao. That is so cheesy. But it's good to see LMA poke a little fun at what happened over the summer. That's a good sign.

This commercial has only been up for one hour, I deserve major rep. We're breaking this huge basketball story!

San Diego is a much bigger city than Portland is, and surprisingly enough, a lot of their commercials (for Padres players) are just as dorky as this one.

Main point? local commercials, in EVERY CITY big or small, suck. Portland isn't unique, or unusual when it comes to this. So no, that'snot why "superstars" don't come to Portland.

    San Diego 28

Smaller than Portland in tv market size

Actually it is pretty sad just how little money our players make in local endorsements. I remember reading years back that David Lee made between $6-8 mill a year in local endorsements when he played for the Knicks. I bet the most LMA has ever made is $100k. I know we're not NY but that's a huge difference. In Roy's prime the biggest local endorsement he got was for Good Foot.

I think the most recent CBA has made it more difficult for players to represent local businesses. It costs more and its not negotiable.

Get the NBALeague pass and you'll see some REAL bad local commercials with players. Ones that make this one look like GodfatherII!

San Diego is a bigger city than Portland, both as a city and as a metro area. A lot of why San Diego is a 'small market' is it's proximity to LA and Mexico.

I also wonder how much of the military impact on San Diego has a role (in the # of "TV Homes")

Maybe according to some list, but the actual downtown area is smaller. Maybe it's more spread out.

No idea, but the market size is indeed smaller

So McLoughlin Auto Mall must have bought out the Town and Country dealerships, anyone know what happened to the Martinez brothers?
