Look at this potential match up: Kobe Bynum Gasol Odom v. KG Allen Pierce That will be an amazing NBA Finals!
Shape, ya beat me to making a similar thread. As it is, I think the Lakers are now legit players in the West. We were on the rise with a healthy Bynum, but we definitely just took a huge step forward. A frontcourt of Gasol and Bynum is going to be tough to stop on both ends. We also may very well be the best rebounding team in basketball now too. Plus, you throw in Kobe, the best player in the game, and we still have solid depth as well. I don't see why we can't contend for the Western Conference title now. We all know Kobe is going to welcome this trade in a heartbeat. Odom is already too unselfish so this won't affect him. In all, this a huge winning trade for us and I think does put us right in the thick of things out West again. By the way, McKie and Marc Gasol were traded as well.

Odom can make a nice comeback if he doesn't have the weight of being the #2 guy. He loves getting people involved, he will complement Gasol, Bynum and the triangle due to his passing abilities. He will get more open looks.
This would be absolutely amazing, and exactly what the NBA needs. I'll be crossing my fingers for it.

The big thing is, even after this trade we still have a ton of depth. Kwame is the only real factor we lost in the trade. Javaris wasn't getting much playing time to begin with, and even when he was, he hasn't looked as good as Sasha, who has looked terrific this season. Words cannot express how I feel right now. As for Lamar, he was playing great for us back when the Kobe and Bynum duo was on court. Now, imagine him moving down to the fourth option. It will take away even more pressure from him to perform. God I love this

It's going to be Odom or both Luke & Space Cadet. Odom will have better value with his expiring contract and Ariza will be a great replacement for him short and long term.
I don't think Odom will survive the deadline, honestly. He's got no interest out there on the court. However, I am intrigued to see how he would produce as a 4th option. Either way, bring on Boston!

I don't know about that Shape. We might want to add some more depth at SF after we get rid of Odom. We have trouble guarding athletic Wing/SF players anyway so we could use an extra vet I suppose.
Spurs-Pistons Final I might be the only guy here who would really appreciate that final good fundamental Basketball
