Olshey just did an interview a week or 2 ago when he said that he was hiding the fact that they were going to draft Lillard until the last minute. I'm really confused by this as it was well known weeks ahead of time. nbadraft.net, draftexpress, espn all had Lillard on their mocks weeks in advance. Hell, Lillard wore Trail Blazer colors to the draft. Anyone have any insight on what Olshey is talking about?
Olshey likes to talk. He says a lot of things that at times I don't think he is really saying what he is thinking (Caleb's his guy). With Lillard, he was adamant he was going to draft BPA . . . maybe that is what he was considering "hiding" the Lillard draft pick (I know it can be argued that he was the BPA at 6, just trying to throw out how Olshey might justify that comment) In the end, I'll judge Olshey by the product he puts on the floor rather than what he says.
Lots of teams hide who they will draft, but the art of reasoning makes it pretty easy to figure out who they will draft. Just like how the Colts were making a big deal out of who they will draft, but everyone knew they'd take Luck #1 overall.
