<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">On the night of Dec. 2, the weight of several months of drama became too heavy for Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony. After a nationally televised blowout loss against Cleveland at the Pepsi Center, Anthony went home to his Denver mansion, thought about all that had gone wrong in the previous weeks, and cried. "I was like, I can't take all this," Anthony, 20, said. "I sat back and cried. Sat back and thought that I can't believe all this is happening to me."</div> This is a great article and i think everyone who sees this should read it. I don't want to post more of it because i dont want to take a chance at getting in trouble with the Mods again. But basically it talks about how much Melo has struggled this year and everything piling down on him. Him getting in trouble with Larry Brown, the marijuana incident, and how much it has affected his play, and him as a person. Link
Oh i forgot to post the link this time. And yeah i just figure i dont wanna take any chances for a while lol.
^ He means to quote the entire article... it is not allowed in JBB because it's going to be very long and not pretty-looking. You can only quote a little portion of the whole thing (as a sneak preview) and post the link. I read the article and I suggest Melo-haters to read it to understand him better. Melo is just 20 years old, he's just someone not wise enough to know how to handle all the money and fame. He definitely thinks his friends are important and that he is not to let his rich lifestyle get in the way. Unfortunately, that's not how reality works because true friends are very scarce in this world. Money rules and I'm sure 9 out of his 10 friends are going to want his money or use him to get some money consciously or unconsciously. And out of those 9, about at least 2 will really get him into big trouble, such as the DVD thing. I think Melo is finding it out the hard way that he cannot further risk his image by hanging out with his friends the way it used to be when he was still broke. The only way they can get together is just to promise to Melo they'd never bring negativity that could bring him down and just do positive things around him. Like Shaq maybe employing his neighbourhood friends to be his personal bodyguards or sth. That's doing positive things and earning lots of money too without screwing your friend.
I couldn't have said it better myself. And I read from a PR guy that one or two more incidents could forever tarnish his image and make him lose all of his endorsments. lets keep our fingers crossed that there are no more incidents.
Carmelo just needs to be strong, I know he is ready to play in this league right now, but it may take him a while to adjust from hood life to living large. If Carmelo plays his game and stays positive on and off the court he is going to be ok.
