Last day is November 28th. Hmmm....appears that I may just be coming back "home" sooner than expected.
Sorry to hear that you lost your job, ABM. This economy sucks, to say the least. I hope a return to Oregon is in your future.
That stinks, at least you are keeping your head up and looking at it on the bright side. Best of luck finding a new job. -Petey
Sorry to hear about that, ABM. Hopefully this blip on the radar means bigger and better things for you in the future. And not a bad deal if it means you get to come back to the Northwest. -Pop
That sucks. I say take an Asian Sex Tour. Those are always a good way to get away from things for a while.
Sorry to hear it, ABM. I seem to remember you are in the print industry--there are lots of good printers up in Portland. I've had the same job for over a decade, so I have no advice on job hunting. Other than go abroad for a few months and unwind (if you can afford it).
That sucks. I hope you can find a job preferably in the Portland area if that is what you want. Good luck!
Don't come up here. We'll soon have 8% unemployment; may as well be jobless in a big market with affordable housing.
It's kind of hard to boom when the local government taxes industries such as Columbia Sportswear out of the city. Columbia is nothing more than an office these days.
Can't argue with Portland being anti-business. It's a frustration I've had with this city for a long time. For a city that claims to be big on ideas, we're also huge on red tape. Of course that's what happens when you elect a mayor who was a former chief of police - amped up bureaucracy. I'm not sure Adams will be much better in that regard since he's spent his entire career in City Hall. Too bad Dozono was such a fool - I would have liked to seen what Portland could have done with a successful individual from the private sector leading City Hall. Sorry for hijacking this thread. Probably worth a discussion in a different thread than this one. -Pop
