Who will be the Nets' good luck charm guy at the lottery? Probably Kiki, but how about throwing Jason Collins out there. Just put him on display as if to say, "here's one of our biggest mistakes, in case you were wondering why we are here today." Okay, that's not fair, he's not even playing much, but dammit his contract has killed this team for what feels like decades. I guess put the leprauchaun coach up there for some luck. He can talk about JKidd's uncommon will and his own uncommon lack of coaching ability, and the uncommon way no one respects or fears him.
They Need to do what the sonics did and trade kidd, carter, and jefferson for more high end picks and try to rebuild this team.
If we win more than 10 games the rest of the season than we'll have no shot at a top ten pick...look at the records we're currently in the 9th spot only a 1/2 game back of the Pacers and thats after a 7 game losing streak. I'm thinking we'll pull a 39-40 win record and the 8th spot, get swept by Boston and have a pick somewhere around 18-19.

I mean last night they had a good chance to win that game, but didn't. The pieces are broken, the chemistry is getting worst by the day....even if you have to sell short, you have to sell. You keep the team as is, the above will happen, 40-42, 8th spot and the 18-19 pick....don't get me wrong, Boone and SWAT were nice finds, but not franchise type players. Teams that have rebuilt build around stud lottery picks....Wade, Lebron, Dirk....or a combo with trades and free agency, Nash, Billups, Lewis, Turkoglu, etc. The Celtics were considered unlucky and had bad karma when they did not win Oden nor Durant. But 2 months later, they got the biggest trade piece since, what Kidd or Barkley, Abdul-Jabbar? How'd they do that, young talent(Al Jefferson, Green) and a decent lottery pick(Ray Allen-Jeff Green) The Nets don't any of that. You start by trying to move VC...who knows someone like the Kings might need a selling point with their worst attendance season ever in Sacramento. Then you try to move Kidd, who should bring back a young piece, draft pick and salary cap space. RJ's my question, do you keep him or move him. Keeping him, says you want to win within 2 seasons. Move him, you're looking at Brooklyn, not ugly, since you will have 1 lottery pick(Nets), another 1st rounder(Kidd). Combine that with the vets you get from Sac and RJ. You have several movable pieces to find another piece and you won't be locked into how old the player is nor his position. If somehow we win the lottery get a franchise changing piece add him to the other 1st rounder, with Marcus, SWat and Boone in hand, it's several nice pieces to work around for a couple years. Plus Krstic is still around, without Kidd's albatross you can keep Krstic and see how he recovers.

What does filling the seats matter for now? Ratner is only interested in throwing out a Brooklyn product. DeAndre & Deron Washington would be an AWFUL draft.

so at best (worst) you're looking at the 8th to 10th pick in the draft. At this point, it is pretty unlikely for them to end up with a worse record than Minnesota, Miami, Seattle, Memphis, New York, or the Clippers. Between the Clippers and the Nets in the standings today are about five teams, and it's unlikely that the Nets will do worse than all of them from this point on (not to mention teams like Indiana that are essentially tied with the Nets right now). You're just not going to get someone who can come in and make an immediate significant impact there. I guess you never know, though.
Nets still have ashot at the playoffs with Indy losing Jermaine O'neal, and teams like Milwauke, Chicago, and Charlotte being up and down.

DeAndre Jordon looks like a player with the skill set of Saer Sene and the heart and work ethic of Patrick O'bryant.
