Lotsa #2 pick busts in there. Other than Jason Kidd no one else has been a franchise player as you'd expect a #2 pick to be(Stevie Franchise..pun intended).
<div class="quote_poster">thedude9990 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">and only once has a team with two digits (11,10 etc) made top 4</div> If they extended it to 93, that would also include the Magic, who had the best record of all lottery teams and lowest amount of ping pong balls and still managed getting the top pick.

Ah, camby, what could of been. All the 3 picks, have gone on to become or will be or are right now, great players. Gasol, Billups, Gordon, Deron Williams, Carmelo, Hill, Gasol and Baron Davis.

<div class="quote_poster">thedude9990 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">and only once has a team with two digits (11,10 etc) made top 4</div> No double digit team could get the 4th spot anyway (4 through 9 actually) as the lottery only picks the top 3, then the rest are in inverse order of rank. So you mean "top 3". <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">If they extended it to 93, that would also include the Magic, who had the best record of all lottery teams and lowest amount of ping pong balls and still managed getting the top pick</div> This chart should really only show from 1995 which was the first year of the modern draft lottery, in '93 the odds were very different, the Magic (No. 11) had a 1/66 chance, today the last place team (which is now No. 14 because of expansion) has a 1/200 chance. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">someone explain to me how michael olowakandi is a number 1 pick. please</div> Two words, The Clippers. Olowakandi was kind of a last minute decision, most people figured Bibby was the obvious #1 because the Clippers needed a PG, but they also needed size and late in the draft process Olowakandi was getting a lot of hype, maybe from workouts, maybe from his agent, I don't know. But between his size and how quickly he developed in college after not having much experience, the hype was about how good he was now with limited knowledge about basketball, imagine how good he will be once an NBA team can train him correctly. Even at that time most teams didn't have much of a grasp on the draft, a lot of teams were trading out of the draft, experience was more important those days than young talent. Even though Garnett and Kobe were in the league, a lot of teams still weren't jumping at High School players, Orlando and Houston passed up Al Harrington and Rashard Lewis 3 times! At the time of that draft, Jamison was actually considered a better player than Vince Carter (Golden State had to trade Carter & cash for Jamison) and Robert "Tractor" Traylor was considered a can't-miss big man (which is why you can't really blame Milwaukee for trading Dirk Nowitzki and Pat Garrity for him). N4S, nice work, it's nice to see the 4th worst team has only gotten in the top 3 three times. If the current No. 4 (Atlanta) stays out of the top 3 the Suns get the pick

Granted, it wasn't as strong as it was hyped up to be, but it definitely can't be considered the worst.

Of the above groupings, 2000 is the only one without an All-Star in sight. I think both the top of the draft and that draft as a whole have to be considered one of the weakest drafts in recent history, Redd (43rd pick) is really the only player in that draft who would be considered an All-Star player currently.
