<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">If the Magic land the top lottery draft pick May 26 -- by some history-repeats-itself miracle -- they will entertain trade offers. Emeka Okafor, come on down (south). We know more about Okafor than any other big man in this muddled draft, and what we know is this: He's by far the best available, the most ready for the NBA. He's a defensive demon, specializes in blocking shots and has an infectious work ethic. He's mature, infinitely more than all the eighth-graders who've seemingly declared. Oak is what the Magic desperately need, even if he's only 6 feet 9. That's big enough for duty in the East. Orlando needs volume, but who will trade it something better than Okafor? Ever since the lottery was born in 1985, the No. 1 pick has been traded only twice. There's a reason for that.</div> Full Story Interesting article, well worth the read. It raises a good question, IF Orlando landed the number one pick, what would happen with it? Would we be stupid enough to trade it off? Regardless of the offers, theres no way in hell a knowledgeable person would trade their number one pick. (Future franchise player)
Good Find Ice. I would trade away the first overall pick if given the right offer. Maybe a good player like Mark Blount if he wasnt a FA and that teams First round pick (something in the area of 5-8). Everybody and pick is tradeable given the right offer.
I don't think is a good idea trading the number one pick...unless something like Tim Duncan or Shaq or something like that ( A Franchise player ) is involved.
I dont think that the Magic should trade there top pick, ever. They are desperately in need of some power and Okafor will bring just that. Trading a 1st pick in the draft is like trading the future of the franchise to me, its just so valuable.
The draft is so thin this year, that no one will be willing to trade their franchise players for the #1 pick. I think that if we get a pg like Eric Snow and a lotto draft pick, then we should take it.
