I think he is the big time free agent we make a large multiyear offer to tomorrow. Should be exciting but I'm not sure what I think of the move yet.

    6th man.

I don't see how you can start him next to Lillard at his size.

Their stats do look similar but Williams is a lot more efficient. Crawford's PER last season was 15.7, Williams' was 20.2

Williams averages slightly more assists but a whole turnover less than Crawford. Honestly if Crawford had been as efficient as Williams I wouldn't have hated watching him play so much. He's an extremely efficient 6th man scorer, and him and Lillard could easily play together for periods of time against certain lineups. So many teams play smaller guys than that at PG and SG during games these days.

You make some great points, and that's why I'm excited for the addition. But I fear this could limit our ability to eventually add the allstar level player we will need to be a contender. Would we be better served picking up some amnesty cuts and expiring deals? Maybe, maybe not.

We need the most help at C, SG and backup PG so Lou fits two of those needs. We have an oversees prospects for the big man positions but a lack of veteran options in the back court. Lou was very effective for a winning team. We want a player that is ready to contribute but still has plenty of years in his prime left; Lou is 26 so he could grow with the current roster. We want to make a run at unrestricted free agents because the front office is scared of having an offer come in for Batum.

I proposed Lou Williams to the forum a couple of weeks ago. But even though he can play SG, I'm not sure that's his best position, so I would pass

Problem with Lou Williams is he is almost a pure jump shooter. His best play comes from playing pg with a good ball handleing wing to help the play making.
He can shoot but having him and Wes on the court at the same time would be horrific.

Lou Williams career PER: 17.6 (increases steadily year to year: 16.3, 18.2, 18.9, 20.2 last four seasons
Crawford's career PER: 15.3 (largely inflated by one anomalous 18 PER season. 15.0, 18.4, 14.2, 15.7 last four seasons)

Williams is already a much better player than Crawford ever was.

Also Williams', foul drawing percentage was 14.6%, and his 'hands' rating is 24.8. Compared to Crawford's 9.5% and 14.1

You won't convince them because their games are similar. Even though they are totally different talents
