Louisville is getting spanked right now by WVU, down by as much as 19 in the first half. WVU seems to be hitting every freaking three pointer they have taken, making 10 of 14. Louisville goes to a 2-3 zone, WVU hits threes....Louisville then goes to man to man, WVU hits threes. Pitino has got to think of something to do to stop these guys from behind the arc because right now, it's killing them! The score at half stands at 40-27. The area of concern, in my view, besides the threes, is O'Bannon being held scoreless. He needs to get involved. Let's go Cardinals!
Wow 12 out of 17 makes from 3point land for W. Virginia. The second half is underway, I think Louisville needs to get back in this game by shooting 2's instead of Dean launching 3's, he shot 10 in the first half. Louisville is not done yet, it's only a 12 point lead.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Flava23:</div><div class="quote_post">pittsnoggle is a BEAST</div> Pittsnoggle had some big buckets, but he missed a very big three that Kobe 8 Ball mention and if I recall correctly he did not score in the overtime. What a comeback for Louisville, down by 20 early, down 27-41 at the half and come back to win it in OT. Great second half by Pitino's club...
Amazing game. I'm so glad Louisville won. I had them in the Final Four, but it wasn't just that. Really fun game to watch. That "You got Pittsnoggled" poster was funny as hell, except when he kept hitting those 3's when I wanted the Cards to come back... Great game.
Final Four babbyy! Man, what a comeback. A 20 point lead erased and the game was sent into overtime, and Louisville prevailed. Did anyone check out Dean? The boy is tough. First, last season with a severe groin injury, he played. This year, with mono, he played. Then, he was listed questionable with an ankle injury, but you knew he had to play, and he did. When he was taken out to be given rest in the OT session, he was crying with the pain he was in. Yet, soon after, he went back in. I admire his will to play. One thing that impressed me the most, is how good this team played with Garcia fouled out and Dean on the bench getting his cramps worked out. The team played great and stuck it to the Mountaineers. Though, I give all of the credit in the world to WVU, they played great. I mentioned, Louisville better not look past this game, and if they would have, it could have been a huge loss. And one additional thing that I found amazing, was, Louisville scores a mere 27 points in the first half, pretty low for one of the highest scoring teams in the nation, right? Yet, they end the game with 93 points. It just shows the amount of scoring options they have, and the amount of ways they can be effective on the offensive end. What a great coaching job by Pitino in this game, and, I think, he becomes the only coach to take three teams to the Final Four. Illinois, here we come!
Oh, its got to be him. I mentioned, I was concerned with him being held scoreless in the first half. But going from being held scoreless in the first half, to scoring 24 points to lead the team? That's pretty tough to do. I remember him scoring I think 25 or so in the first half against Charlotte this season, so he was definitely capable of breaking out and scoring big. That's what I'm definitely going to miss the most next season, besides Garcia leaving, it's O'Bannon's consistent scoring. He has scored in double figures in tons of games and hits so many big, clutch shots for this team. His play will definitely be missed. But, wouldn't it be nice to win a championship before you go?
OMG! I was at the Olive Garden eating lunch as I was coming from the game. I saw the game and I thought West Virginia had it in hand. I turned on ESPN.com to check the score of the Lady Gophers/Baylor game and next thing you know I saw Lousivlle winning. WOW! West Virginia blew it. Still good job by Louisville. Congrats to Rick Pitino for leading his third different team in the Finals.
This was a great game for Louisville. When Garcia fouled out I thought for sure they were toast. Dean and O'Bannon came up absolutely huge. Dean was battling cramps, but he toughed it out. Also, Myles had an amazing block on JD Collins. Great coached game by Pitino.
