You guys have a really nice player in Ridnour. He is a great passer and makes smart decisions most of the time. He reminds of Tony Parker because of his pass first mentality and he is a very good "true point guard". I really like this guys game. I did however noticed that he missed a few lay ups in Game 6 against the Spurs. I think once he continues to develop in the NBA, his game will become more sharp and I think he will become a better scorer. What are your thoughts on Luke Ridnour and his future in Seattle?

I think he can be the next Steve Nash in this league. He can run the floor and he can create options for his teammates. His jumpshot is his weakest link right now. If he continues to develop then I'd like to see him as a Sonics player for years to come. And in this season he got so much stronger - both mentally and physically. Also he had a very good tutor (Daniels) this year and I won't underestimate the effort that Mateen Cleaves gave to tutor Ridnour because Cleaves is also very experienced player. All in all a very positive season for Ridnour and I hope there is much to come!

I think they will sign Ray Allen next year and keep him Seattle. They will still have a lot of left over cap room after signing Allen so I think they should go all out and sign many players such as Eddy Curry, Tyson Chandler, Kwame Brown, Shareef Abdur Rahim or someone like that. I am not saying they will get all of these players but landing one or two of them would help the Sonics extremely.

I thought he made some huge strides in this series and playoffs in general.

I honestly thought this was our big weakness going into the postseason but Luke showed me something.

He was more aggressive and you could see his confidence building game by game. He made 2 of the best passes I've seen - the dipsy do flip to Rashard against Sac and lefty bounce pass to Wilkins in Game 4..

I do think he needs to finish better around the rim - he already has a floater but I think he could learn from Nash on how to use his body to create space.

And as stated he needs to get stronger, I think he put on 10lbs last summer and if he can duplicate that and keep his quickness that'll really help him.

But all in all I'm really impressed with his progress, I think he can be a 15 and 8 kind of guy for the next 10yrs (I hope).

I agree. I think Ridnour is an intelligent player who can hit open shots and play some nice defense. I remember during one game against the Rockets during his rookie campaign, he came off the bench and completely disrupted the Rockets offense, and held Steve Francis to a subpar game. I was quite impressed, and I think the Sonics have a true point gem in Luke...

If Luke can work on an accurate jumper he will be an all-star.

It just hit me who Luke reminds me of. Kirk Hinrich! Both white guys who have decent jump shots and can find their teamates if they get open. They are also both young players who are smart and know how to work the ball to the weak point of a defense.

yall are crazy talkin about ridnour like he could be the next steve nash. First of all, ridnour cant shoot well at all, and secondly his passing skills arent even close to nashs. I think that ridnour is a best going to be a solid backup, as he doesnt have close to enought scoring or driving ability to be a star. He had nothing to do with seattles great season, it was all because of ray allen and rashard lewis. seattle would be smart to let him go and re sign players they actually need like allen, jerome james and antonio daniels.

Did you actually see any Sonics games this season? Or are you just talking to irritate people in this forum... [IMG]
And your biggest joke is that Sonics needs James more than they need Ridnour....I can't belive you said that! [IMG]

Alright, It's time to rip apart this idiots post...

First of all, Ridnour is a rookie so he still has time to develop. He is only 24 years old and is improving each season. Of course he can't be compared to the MVP of the league because he hasn't ha the time to stregthen certain aspects of his game (And he doesn't play with a bunch of All-Stars). He has nice passing skills for a young PG and is only averaging 1.8 turnovers per game so he must be doinfg something right.

Second, he is going to be more then just a backup in this league. You claim he doesn't have the driving abilities or scoring to be a star. Nobody said he was going to be the best PG of all time and you can still make plays and become a star with great passing (Jason Kidd).

Finally, why on earth would you think he had nothing to do with the Sonics successful season?! He gave the Sonics 10 and 5 and was a productive player. YOU ARE FREAKING CRAZY IF YOU THINK THE SONICS SHOULD DROP RIDNOUR! His contract isn't even up and they need all the players they can to be returning next year. And as far as the Jerome James is more important comment, that proves you know nothing about the Sonics.

Now go back to your little Raptors forum and quit talking trash here.

Jerome James did play great in that game but he is not as valuable as Ridnour. James is a bust and isn't even as valuable as Reggie Evans. Ridnour passed and passed because look at the PG's he matched up against, Tony Parker and Mike Bibby. These are two of the NBA best PG's and he had to match up on them. Don't even tell me that you could have done a better job against these two because I bet you couldn't have. By the way you post I'm guessing your like 11 years old so just take your CB4 4 MVP crap out of here and go post in a topic you actually know about.

LMFAO!!! First the raps probably wont even be 32-50 next year, Bosh is good but you cant be serous calling him MVP material. He wasnt even the best rookie in his class. D Wade and Lebron are already way ahead of him so please go back to raptors forum and stay there.

ONCE AGAIN, nobody is talking about the Raps! And I would rather have Ridnour because they put up similar numbers and Ridnour is younger and has more potential.

Wow I'm arguing like I some kind of die hard Sonics fan. [IMG]
