"Defenseman Toni Lydman accompanied the Ducks on their season-opening trip as he tries to move closer to joining his teammates on the ice and work toward becoming available in the foreseeable future.

Lydman, 33, did not appear in any exhibition games and has only taken part in two practices as he awaits medical clearance from symptoms related to his acute episode of double vision suffered Sept. 8.

The veteran rearguard has been designated as an injured non-roster player. Joffrey Lupul (back infection) is on the injured reserve list, as is Jason Jaffray, who tore the anterior crucial ligament in his left knee on the first day of camp."
