Link That might be a bit too pricey for ManU or the Gunners, but chump change to City. I know he just extended his contact. Before City came into the picture was that a realistic figure? I suppose he is very happy in France. -Petey
... bad way to build a club. £80million is not chump change, any team could spend that elsewhere to improve, instead of using it to keep a player from joining another club. -Petey
I agree Petey that's a lot of money but if Arsenal is willing to spend that for a quality player like Benzema, then I say use it.
Arsenal will not spend this much on Benzema. We have too many players coming up the ranks, and we can't afford to push them back another step, plus, we're packed for strikers now (Bendtner, Vela, Walcott, van Persie, Adebayor, Eduardo). Benzema is a great player, but he's not worth that amount of money (no player is), and he most likely has a over-inflated ego (who wouldn't?).
You have to understand that Cristiano Ronaldo will probably be sold after this season or next. So that 80 Million pounds won't really matter, because they will get way more for Ronaldo. And if we did get Benzema that would make us even more powerful.
His assertion was to nab Benzema to keep him from Arsenal. That is what I meant as a bad way to build your team. ManU fan? Hope to see you about bro. -Petey
