<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">With the Rockets' eight-game winning streak heading into the break, Tracy McGrady spent Friday's media session explaining the resurgence.

He called coach Jeff Van Gundy "by far the best coach I ever played for." And he said the Rockets' move to a more up-tempo style would last.

"I dont think we're going to go back to slowing it down now," he said.

He also said the team's trades have been key.

"After the acquisitions of David Wesley and Jon Barry, veteran leaders that can open up a lot for myself and Yao ( Ming) because those guys can shoot very well from the perimeter, I knew it was a matter of time for it all to jell together."

His most interesting explanation might have been about Bob Sura.

"We have so many nice guys on our team with so many great personalities; he's not one of those guys," McGrady said. "Bob doesn't care about anybody on the opposing team. He just comes to play. He doesn't care about officials or if things aren't going his way.

"I mean, he's a dog, man. He's a true warrior. I found that out when he dislocated his fingers (in Miami). It looked nasty. I didn't think he could play. He suited up the next game (in Boston) and was real effective."</div><div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Yao Ming seems to inspire media silliness, and All-Star weekend tends to increase that.

Friday brought another unusual exchange, when a reporter tried to ask Yao a question through interpreter Colin Pine, even though Yao spoke to the Western media in English and the Chinese media in Chinese.

"Can you ask him when he started shooting baskets?" Pine was asked.

Pine replied, as he customarily does, "Ask him."

So the interviewer said to Yao, "Can you ask him when he started shooting baskets?"

If nothing else, his questioning uncovered when Pine first played basketball.</div>

T-Mac is right. The perimeter guys we brought in were instrumental to the team's success, maybe even more than Sura's stellar play. Yao's humor was once again on display at All-Star Weekend.

the main factor in our streak is the ability to knock down open shots, simply put, but not always easily done as we have seen in the past. With all of our starters and our bench players hitting open shots, it has becoming harder and harder for teams to double tracy and yao. Howard and Wesley are very important because they are the pass offs, so if they continue to hit the open shots like they are doing im confident our run will continue.

I guess people(media) didnt think a 7'6er from China would have much of a sense of humor, but hes still young and wise crackish and i think its hilarious.

    lol

I love our team. I just hope they can keep this up and prove to the doubters that the Rockets are a dangerous team by defeating Seattle and the rest of the elite scum that have dominated this league for so long..its our time to shine [IMG]

HAHAHA! You know, there was a time when our mighty Rockets were among the "elite scum that ruled the league". And I loved them then, and still do. Even the next 3 or 4 seasons after our back to back championships, we were still dominating with the likes Dream, Glide, and Sir Charles.

We are slowly becoming among the elite once again. After this season, I'm sure we will make some more acquisitons, especially for younger players.

Yeah but we haven't been one for like the past 6 seasons?

Yes I cannot wait for the elite status.. [IMG]
Things I would like to happen in the next 2 seasons:
o More pick and roll plays for Tmac and Yao
o Yao averaging 20+ ppg and at least 10 rpg
o Yao regaining his passing skills and average 3-4 apg
o Bobby Sura being healthy and rebounding like crazy
o Get players with great potential in the rotation a la Badiane, Spanoulis, Barett and Simien(If we do get him in the draft)
o T-mac and Yao having the kind of relationship Mobley and Francis had [IMG]
o Jon Barry regaining his hair after winning a CHAMPIONSHIP
    o Van Gundy smiling
