#NYR source says McIlrath's injury "is not expected to be serious." It's not the knee that had previously been operated on.

    Some good news at least

As as McIlrath left, that pussy Martin took a run at Staal because the sissy knew McIlrath wouldn't have beat him through the ice for it.

Can't wait to get Bobby Orr back in the lineup.

Really? I guess your happy watching boyle and girardi stink up the ice every game. I'd rather see dylan in there as would most ranger fans

Girardi's been in a non-contact jersey for years.

Yup. Not like he finished 5th in hits by a defenseman last year, and has been in the top 15 each of the last 3 years. Totally allergic to contact.

Hits or fly bys?:) I bust on Danny but it's more in jest, as he's given alot of himself over the years to this franchise. I just wish they had been a little more cautious with re-signing him.

Good reason why that stat is useless. Girardi is not a intimidating or punishing hitter. Gimme a break. Even his supporters have to admit Girardi at best is a 5th-6th defenseman who should be getting paid about 2 million.

Please show me where I called Girardi an intimidating or punishing hitter, or where I said he is playing any better than a 3rd pairing defenseman. I was responding to a quote which suggested he is scared of contact which is clearly not the case given how often he initiates hits.

If the league calls gliding into a player a hit, then he would lead the league. I think the poster was trying to say he like every defenseman other than McIlrath on our team is soft. If you don't believe me, just look at Hank the past 2 weeks. He's had enough with the candyass defenseman core in front of him. I think Hank will be tough exit interview this season with Gorton and AV. I think this year Hank will finally speak his mind. I don't believe he has all these years. I think he's taken the high road. Now, with time running out, I think he will speak up.

Being soft and being scared of contact are two different things. I do consider Girardi a soft player in terms of his demeanor and aggression. I do not consider Girardi a soft player in terms of his toughness, and I definitely do not consider Girardi scared of contact. Rick Nash is scared of contact as he falls down every time he is leaned on. Derek Stepan is scared of contact as he hasnt broken 40 hits in 3 years, which is unacceptable for the minutes and situations he plays.

I have been very disappointed with Girardi this season but can we at least be somewhat fair in how we rip him apart?

Girardi has been a top defenseman here for a long time but has steadily declined since the kings final. The guy is as tough as they come playing thru things a lot of others can't or won't. AV would make him look better by going to a zone defense, cutting his minutes and using him on the third pair as opposed to the first pair.
