It’s hard to believe that Matthew Macklin(Above) (28-2, 19 KO’s) will be facing Khoren Gevor(Below) (31-5, 16 KO’s) in a WBA middleweight title eliminator bout on April 16th at the M.E.N. Arena, in Manchester, England. The Macklin-Gevor fight will be on the undercard of the clash between WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan vs. Paul McCloskey. However, Macklin, 28, and Gevor seem to be the wrong fight to determine the mandatory challenger for one of the champions Gennady Golovkin or Felix Sturm. Up until recently, Gevor wasn’t even ranked in the top 15 by the WBA, but they moved Gevor up to the #4 spot recently after the Gevor-Macklin fight was announced as an eliminator bout.
