With this year’s focus on the running game, Alexander is the perfect representative for the cover of the most popular football videogame franchise. Last year Madden NFL 06 sold more than six million copies.“To be on the cover of Madden NFL 07 is a big milestone in my career since I have always been a huge fan of this franchise,” said Alexander. “EA SPORTS is focusing on the running game in this year’s version, so I was honored when I was chosen to be on the cover to represent the improved running game.”Alexander, who was named the NFL MVP and selected for his third consecutive Pro Bowl this past season, is the hottest running back in the NFL. He has rushed for over 1,150 yards in each of the last five seasons. As the most valuable player in the NFL he rushed for a league-high 1,880 yards and 27 touchdowns on 370 carries. Why it gotta go to gay ass Shaun Alexander...But anyway, I wonder what they're going to add to the game that's special for runningbacks. I don't think jumping over a pile is serious enough to be the main gameplay addition.

Very cool. I like Shaun and the BG looks cool. I just hate the MADDEN 07 part. It's plain and ugly.

Only thing I like about Shawn Alexander is that he wears my number, other than that I hate the guy. I'm gonna print out a Portis cover to put on my 07 Madden that's all I know.

Forget the curse, lets talk about the game. The running game in Madden has been weak for a few years now and I'm so happy theyre going to address it now..I mean, I'm pretty sure EA KNOWS what the problems with the games are and just saves the solutions for the next version's so that it sells..But still, the game keeps getting better and I'm happy either way. What we need is the ability to stutter step behind the line..Take a split second to scope out the holes and the situation and hit one of the gaps. As opposed to running forward, getting stuck behind a lineman and eventually just falling because of some crappy tackle animation. I'd like to see plays that are designed to do certain things actually DO those things..HB dive is meant for going through the A gap between the center and guard, but 90% of the time you're forced to pull it outside because there will be a huge crowd of players in the middle of the line just dancing around..You'll run into them and fall..So you've got to take it outside, where some DE or OLB will suddenly break off his block JUST as you get there and make the tackle all in one motion.Maybe a green light, yellow light, red light system..each color indicating if the hole is good to hit, and the kind of success you'll have going through it. Obviously the dive and goaline plays meant to go inside will have the A gaps lit green, but it will vary depending on the defense and how long you take to hit the gap..Id like to see the right analog stick utilized in this "hitting the gap"..use it to juke right and left behind the line, and then push it up to hit the gap you choose..Something like that, I'd go into more detail but this is getting long enough.HOPEFULLY EA doesnt give running backs any kind of advantage here, but instead evens the playing field. I'm tired of having my offensive line completely mauled by the opponents front seven, with any chance of breaking a 10 yard+ run being if i run outside the tackles and all the way to the outside, where my WR has a solid block and isnt holding. But I can see EA totally either giving running backs the advantages over defenses, and/or taking away from the passing game and focusing this whole game entirely around running the football..Then next year stamping Steve Smith or Chad Jackson on the cover and suddenly upgrading everything with wide receivers because this game was (purposely) terrible with the passing game.I hate EA Sports.............Damnit, I love EA Sports so much I cant wait for this game!!!

What GameTime Said and lose the cheesey high passes. I dont care how tall they are. They cant catch balls with 2 people in front of them. Take out the stupid superstar mode. Put in a halftime show which shows the highlights. For Online, provide a spectator mode.
