Chicago Tribune - Greg Maddux has agreed to go to a contender, perhaps even to New York, which previously was believed to be off limits. "Nobody wants to be traded," Maddux said. "If something happens, I understand. If nothing happens, I understand that too. What's going to happen? I have no idea. "Jim has to do what's best for the organization, and if that's trading me, I'm happy to go, and if that's keeping me, I'm more than happy to stay."
Being a Dodgers fan it is fine by me. After his original 5-0 hot start, he has gone 3-11 and a ERA of 4.03 as his overall ERA has risen by 3.48. He isn't as good as many have said.
I'd guess the Yankees, since they are always asking for players, but the Mets are in it to win it this year.
This is such a smart agreement for Maddux. But the thing is, he's so tired of making the Cubs lose, that he wants to go make the Mets suck.
