Something had to give with two pitchers combining for 20 strikeouts and no walks. In the end, the Giants scratched out a couple of runs that held up and allowed them to regain the NL West lead by a half-game.

Madison Bumgarner scattered four hits over eight scoreless innings, Pablo Sandoval drove in both runs and San Francisco beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 2-1 on Monday night.
