I remember beef and few others were stating sam would not be cut from the phins on regards to there salery cap problems. I think i may be right on this one brothers, here ya go. =========================================================== Herald.com: Miami & Ft. Lauderdale News, Weather, Dolphins & More Posted on Fri, Feb. 20, 2004 Releasing Madison a possibility INDIANAPOLIS - The agent for Dolphins cornerback Sam Madison said he expects Miami to release Madison if he and the team are unable to work out a new contract. ''It's understood that if you don't get it done, they're not going to keep him, that's a fact,'' said agent Gene Burrough, who met with the Dolphins late Thursday night. ``They can't afford to pay any player more than $8 million against the salary cap. That's 10 percent of your cap on one guy.'' Although talk of Madison's release might be premature, the Dolphins have contacted the agents for at least two prominent cornerbacks who will be free agents. Madison will count more than $8.1 million against the salary cap this season, which has been set at $80.6 million. The Dolphins are $15 million over the cap and must get under the cap by March 3. Burrough said earlier this month he would not be against restructuring Madison's contract, but was adamant that Madison not take a pay cut. ''I would be surprised if they let Sam go. I expect to do a deal with them and for Sam to finish his career as a Dolphin,'' Burrough said. =========================================================== Could be interesting to see what happens here boys, at some point flippers have to start to think about getting younger. Tho madison skills have slipped a little, drafting a younger corner could be the way. Besides if there gonna fit moss into the plans they have to clear alot of room.
I agree it looks pretty bad Where do u think he'll wind up alot of WR's and CB rumored around this year
That does change the outlook a bit, but its in his court to restructure and stay...if he doesnt, the natural replacement would be Troy Vincent who is a free agent, still has a home in Miami and its good friends with Marino....as for Madison, if hes goes, he goes to Cincy
I definetely agree with the whole VINCENT going to MIAMI He was drafted by then and Philly weather is nasty lol
I heard it was Vincent to Carolina but returning Miami is fine w/ me. Releasing Madison is stupid. The phins would not get anything for him. As mentioned by beef, he might be part of the package sent to the Redskins for Ramsey if Bailey goes to Detroit.
I think ramsey move to miami would be a great trade, this whole brunell deal is messed up. Im wondering if gibbs actually watched ramsey last year. As much hits as that kid took he kept his poise and kept plugging away. Kid has alot of talent and miami would be a perfect fit imo. Maybe gibbs was scared off with ramsey season ending ankle deal.
