This should make a few posters here happy. Be great to see what he can get done. His pic looks like he may have put on a few pounds. Great to have Dungy involved...

    Good luck Maehl-man!

Unexpectedly, the Texans dumped receiver Derrick Mason on Monday. As expected, they’ve promoted former Oregon wideout Jeff Maehl from the practice squad.

Maehl, who caught 77 passes in 2010, was regarded by Tony Dungy of NBC’s Football Night In America as one of the most intriguing players after the lockout. That’s high praise, and it could mean that the Texans soon will be enjoying significant contributions from Maehl.

This kid can definitely catch a ball and find his openings to be effective, my only worry is will he be crushed once he catches the ball on this level! Unlike Welker he's not built like a piece of steel!

Let's hope he can be effective and HEALTHY for years to come!
