Yea I saw that. Completely horrible. I yearn for the days when the replacement officials were running the show. They called a clean game. I was watching a game the other night and Mike Brown of the Cavs actually went up to an official and said "You are going to make that call on Lebron James?" He should have been kicked out for even saying that.

When I was at the Utah game, I couldn't believe my eyes BEFORE THE GAME even started.

Kyle Korver was practicing this 3 pointers (no other players on the court), and he was practicing
catching the ball with 2 feet on the ground, taking a hop with both feet, and shooting the 3.

Amazing that NBA not only travel, but they practice traveling!!!!

(and it wasn't one time, it was over and over again)

Officiating is terrible in most major sports, but in the NBA it is ruining the game.

I don't think And1 would even let that slide.

haha! thanks for posting. someone needs to organize all these youtube videos on a website (a good one) and really start a grassroots effort to make it a known website in the NBA hoops world. THEN the NBA will notice.

from a regular season snoozer b/w the Warriors and Hawks to the Finals, these games are poorly officiated. sometimes on purpose.

btw, does anyone know where i can find that Al Thornton 1-step to the basket from midcourt video? i cannot find it.

The best part of the video is not the travel, but when Maggette throws the other guy to the ground and then wonders why he got a foul :biglaugh:

Funny video, but man that editor really pieced together a pile of crap. The descriptions of what foot is moving are all messed up (it says "right foot" when his left foot moves and vice versa) and then he has some oddly appearing MAC-OS icons that show up in the video at the end.

The funny part is the guy must have struggled so much to piece that thing together that he just said "fuck it" anyway and posted it on YouTube in its current form.

That's pretty funny.. and probably more funny that he took a million steps and got nowhere, he was in the exact same spot than before he made his moves.

It tracks just about perfectly with the pivot foot. When his right foot moves, for example, his left foot is established as his pivot foot.

The icons at the end were unfortunate, though :)

Yeah he does that a lot and they never call it traveling. Shit, he'd probably be better off just planting a pivot foot rather than doing his stupid baby-steps shuffle that accomplishes nothing (as we see later in the play).

I'd like to see an independent referee organization that's the NBA has a contract with. I'd be surprised if the NBA isn't somewhat fixed and having separate organizations could help stop that.

Exactly. He wasn't stating which foot was moving. He placed a caption each time he changed his pivot foot (which, in olden times, would have been the textbook case of traveling).

Took me a few mins to adjust to his caption too, but it makes sense after you realize what he's doing.

Great vid btw. I laughed for 10 minutes the other day.

If anyone wants to see the refs ignore it tonight, watch Travis when he's on the perimeter. At least two pivot foot changes without putting the ball down. Almost guaranteed now.

We'd be unstoppable if Oden got those kind of noncalls.

The fact that he does it, or the fact that the referees ignore him when he does it? :)

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Both. Referees not enforcing the rules strictly on you is a sign that they see you as a veteran. Referees actively cheating on your behalf is a sign that they see you as a superstar.

So veteran players will take advantage of that. ;)
