The Orlando Magic's entire trade deadline plan was built around creating cap space. They made multiple moves to clear space during this summer's bonanza, including trading Tobias Harris without getting a significant starter or draft pick back in return. Their moves were clearly designed to generate the now roughly $55 million they will have available (before re-signing restricted free agents) in cap space. As such, there is a growing concern in some corners -- including the one I am currently sitting in -- that the Magic will be forced into making some very bad deals to fill that quota for free agent upgrades. The Magic are a lottery team with young talent in a bad market hoping to make big splashes in a free agency market that is woefully short on talent in a year where contracts will spike to levels never before imagined. Still, GM Rob Hennigan insists the team isn't going to just sign guys to sign guys. One player they do intend on re-signing, however, is restricted free agent guard Evan Fournier. Hennigan added the Magic "will be as aggressive as any team in free agency." "We'll be ambitious," he added. "At the same time, though, we'll be very disciplined." Translation: If the Magic fail to lure their top free-agent targets, then the team won't spend outlandish sums of money out of desperation. - See more at: http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on...-be-aggressive-and-disciplined-in-free-agency
