He began last season signing with the Dallas Mavericks, but he was waived Oct. 29, 2004. He told the Dominican Nuevo Herald "(It is) clear so in this tournament there are many scouts of the NBA that are attentive to everything that occur, and I expect that my play here help me in great way," his hoped-for return to the NBA. He also said he has had conversations with the Magic, Sonics and Jazz. "What I am (hoping for) is to have a contract guaranteed with some of those teams for when" (NBA training camps open in October)."</div>

I don't know much about this guy but here is some information I found.

He is 30 years old and hasn't been in the league for about 2 years. The Utah Jazz and the Seattle Sonics are also reportedly interested in him. I guess he has had injury problems with his knee in the past but has supposedly recovered. Hopefully we can sign him to a veteren's minimum and he can come play here and stay healthy.

That's the exact same thing that GatorsOwnTheSEC said when I told him about this on Instant Messenger. I think you guys are confusing Felipe Lopez with Raul Lopez, the point guard for the Suns. Felipe is a SG/SF and hasn't been in the league for awhile.

Yes he played for the Wolves but everywhere I look it says he is a Guard/Forward. At 6'5 I think he is more of a SG then PG. Maybe I'm wrong though.

Lopez is more of a G/F, and back in his heyday in college, he was referred to as "the Dominican Michael Jordan"...he was a standout player at St Johns...real athletic, can soar and jump...questionable shot...but never saw consistent minutes...he's a real intriguing player and might still hold a lot of potential...him and Dooling could prove to be an electric backcourt as backups...

I think Lopez should be back in the NBA, hes athletic and should be given a chance. Hes Dominican!! lol but 4real I think he deserves a chance when he was in the league he didnt get that much time to prove himself. And BTW lol shape that pic is pretty nice.
